Four AIIMS Medical Students Arrested For Running NEET Exam Racket
New Delhi:Busting an illegal NEET exam racket in the capital, four medical students from AIIMS have been arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly being involved in rigging the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
Among the four arrested student, the mastermind of the gang, Naresh Bishnoi is a second-year student of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The gang had collected several lakhs from few NEET aspirants to appear their gang members in their place. For the fake candidate to appear legitimate, they tampered with documents and ID cards.
The arrest came around a month after Sanju Yadav, another student of the same college, was held for impersonating a NEET candidate, they said.

Yadav was arrested in May after his biometrics did not match that of the original candidate, raising suspicion. Even his ID card and official documents, including his Aadhaar card, were found to be forged, a police official said.
He impersonated a candidate named Aman Kumar to appear for the examination. However, the planned failed and one of the invigilators had informed the National Testing Agency (NTA) about the incident. Later, the agency approached the police and an preliminary investigation was conducted.
According to a media report in TOI, Yadav told the investigators that for taking the exam, Rs 6 lakh was offered to him. The gang edited the photograph of Kumar on his Aadhaar card and pasted Yadav's photograph on Kumar's admit card.
During questioning, Yadav revealed that Naresh Bishnoi, a second-year student at the college, coaxed him to appear in the medical entrance exam impersonating a candidate in exchange for a huge sum of money, the official said.
According to the police, Bishnoi allegedly took around Rs 7 lakh per candidate. He has been arrested, the police said.
Police have so far arrested accused Sanju Yadav, Mahavir, Jitendra and Bishnoi. Yadav is a first-year student of Radiology at AIIMS and rest of them are also students of AIIMS who were writing the exam on behalf of their clients. Police officers said that their phones and laptops have been seized and probe is ongoing to see if other students are also involved, reportsIndian Express.
While investigating the case, the police discovered the gang which operated in line with the direction of Bishnoi. However, they could not continue their illegal activities for long since the police identified their modus operandi soon.
"We seized Yadav's phone and found WhatsApp chats between him and Vashnoi, and a soft copy of Kumar's admit card," a police source said.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
