ICMR-NIRTH Jabalpur To Hold Three-Day Workshop on Applications of Biostatistics in Medical Research, Register Now
Jabalpur- ICMR-National Institute for Research on Tribal Health (ICMR-NIRTH), Jabalpur Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India is organising a three-day workshop on ‘Applications of Biostatistics in Medical Research’. On this, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has released a brochure detailing the program.
This workshop will be held from 12-14 June 2024 at auditorium ICMR-National Institute of Research in Tribal Health, NIRTH Complex, Nagpur Road P.O. - Garha, Jabalpur - 482 003, Madhya Pradesh, INDIA. Interested candidates are required to fill out the online application form through the link given in the brochure to register themselves for the workshop. The application form is already made live and will be valid till 25th May 2024. It is to be noted that the workshop is limited to 25 participants and the selection of participants is based on a “First Come First Serve” (FCFS) basis.
Along with the application form, candidates have to also pay the registration fee which is Rs.2000.00 per person without accommodation including GST rates. The payment should be made through Demand Draft in favour of the Director ICMR-National Institute of Research in Tribal Health, Jabalpur, A/C No.: 10080130247, IFS Code: SBIN0001445, Branch: SBI, NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur-482003 (Madhya Pradesh) along with filled-in registration form. However, the fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.
The registration fee covers the cost of the training programme kit containing training materials, breakfast, lunch and dinner during the training period.
These three-day workshops will include both the theory and practical training in 4-6 sessions per day. The course level will be of Medical and Non-medical Scientist / Postdoctoral Researcher/Ph. D Research scholars /Postgraduate.+
Meanwhile, the participants who will be participating in the workshop should have a basic understanding of statistical concepts and methods. A passion for learning and an interest in applying statistical methods to medical research are the primary prerequisites.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
1 To provide participants a clear understanding of fundamental biostatistical concepts and methods relevant to health research, and theoretical understanding for statistical analysis.
2 To equip participants with practical skills in applying biostatistical techniques to analyse medical data sets and enable them to conduct statistical analyses independently and accurately.
3 To educate participants on various study designs commonly used in medical research, including experimental and observational studies.
4 To familiarise participants with popular statistical software packages such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, or R and enable them to effectively utilise these tools for data analysis and visualisation in medical research settings.
The Centre will arrange accommodation during the period of training at ICMR-NIRTH, Jabalpur Guest House (A/C Room) on twin sharing basis. The participants must send prior intimation and charges for accommodation along with registration fees. The accommodation will be provided by FCFS on a payment basis. Hence, all the participants are requested to confirm their travel plans with the organising committee before booking the tickets.
