JIPMER Issues Instructions For Submission Of Dissertation Books For PG Students

Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has issued instructions for submitting dissertation books for PG students appearing in the final year examination in June/July 2023.

All the final year postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DM/MCH) students who were admitted during July 2020 session and are due to appear for their final examination in June/July 2023 have to submit their dissertation books on or before 28.2.2023.

The students will have to pay Rs 3000 as the dissertation fee. The payment must only be made through Net banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card. Late submission between 1.03.2023 to 31.3.2023 will attract a fine of Rs.10000. Dissertation books will not be accepted beyond 31.3.2023.

The dissertation books should be prepared using the below guidelines –

1. Number of copies to be submitted - 2 (one will be returned to the student after the signatures are inked)

2. Length — approximately 50-60 pages

3. Font — Arial / Times New Roman

4. Size of font — 11/12

5. Spacing — Single/1.5 spaced

6. 30-40 lines/page, 400-450 words/page

7. Executive bond paper

8. Printing - Both sides

9. Margins — Left 1.5", Right 1" Top 1", and Bottom 1."

10. Continuous pagination

11. Binding — Spiral binding

Two hard copies of the dissertation books and one soft copy of the entire dissertation book on a CD should be submitted to the Dean's (Research) office before the deadline. One soft copy, complete in all respects, should be mailed to pgdissertationjipmer@gmail.com.

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is a medical school in Pondicherry. It is an institute of national importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital. It is under the direct administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Indian Government, with autonomy to run its internal administration. The courses include undergraduate, postgraduate, super specialty, fellowships, PhD programs, post-basic diplomas, and certified courses.

JIPMER originated in 1823 as the Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry, established by the French Government. It was renamed Dhanvantari Medical College in 1956 at the time of the de facto transfer of Pondicherry to the Government of India. It was established on its current campus in 1964 and is spread over 1922 acres.
