Puducherry: Through a recent notice, the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has released Information brochure for 2021 batch of MBBS admission at JIPMER Karaikal campus after Special Stray Vacancy round of Counselling by MCC.
Students allotted to JIPMER Karaikal campus should report to JIPMER Puducherry campus for completing admission procedures
The reporting dates* and time for the admission process will be as follows:

JIPMER will not be responsible for delay in the candidate's arrival. All the candidates are therefore, asked to make suitable arrangements to reach on time.
Tasks to be completed before reporting (mandatory):
1. All the candidates should fill an online form (e-form) by clicking the link below before reporting for admission: https://www.digialm.com/EForms/configuredHtml/827/68596/application.html. Soft copy of recent passport-sized photograph should be uploaded on the form. Provide separate email IDs and mobile numbers for candidates and parents. Take a printout of the submitted form.
2. Complete fee payment procedure through SBI Collect payment portal for JIPMER at https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm?corpID=362853. Choose Academic fee – PHD MSC MPH MBBS BSC BASLP option in the dropdown menu. Refer to the prospectus for correct split-up of fees (as given in page number 15 of JIPMER MBBS prospectus). Fee once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Admission cannot be claimed based solely on fee payment. Bring hard copy of fee payment receipt on the day of reporting.
3. Forms to be printed/filled and brought to the venue:
a) Print out of the submitted e-form mentioned above.
b) Admission Fee payment receipt.
c) ID card form – all the fields should be filled and in block letters (Annexure 3)
d) Hostel application form (if applicable) (Annexure 2)
e) COVID-19 vaccination certificate (read below)
COVID-19 vaccination:
Candidates should have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
- Vaccination certificate is mandatory and should be produced on the day of reporting (vaccination is compulsory as per the order of the Director of Health and Family Welfare Services, UT of Puducherry (vide Order No. Misc./Emergency order/12/2021 dated December 04, 2021)).
- There will be no quarantine of candidates. However, if a candidate develops COVID-19 symptoms during journey (fever, sore throat, bodyache, etc.), she/he should report immediately on arrival to the "triage area" located in the SSB Annex (open from 9 AM to 4 PM). Candidates should disclose if they are COVID-positive.
On the day of reporting:
1. Students can enter JIPMER Puducherry Academic Centre after showing allotment letter to Security personnel at the entrance from 9 AM on the above-mentioned dates. Candidates reporting to the admission venue after 11:00 AM on a given day will have to return on the next day for admission. The candidates MUST carry a valid photo ID proof & seat allotment order with them all the time. 2. Produce the COVID-19 Vaccination certificate for entry into the admission venue. Candidates should remain seated in the venue, until they are called for certificate verification.
3. Certificate verification: The candidates should produce the following for verificationand submission.
• Printout of e-form mentioned overleaf,
• All the certificates in original (Annexure 1),
• One photocopy of each of the certificates,
• Six passport size photographs,
• A hard copy of fee payment receipt as mentioned in the page number 15 of the prospectus. (NRI/OCI candidates will be directed for fee payment)
NOTE: Failure to produce any of the required certificates in original and their photocopies during verification will lead to forfeiture of the allotted seat. No additional time or opportunity will be provided for producing the certificates.
Signature verification: Signatures and Fingerprint impressions of candidates will be obtained for verification with NTA NEET data.
Signing of honour code:
Candidates and parents should sign a document pledging to abide by the Honour code and JIPMER Rules and Regulations.
Medical Examination:
After successful certificate verification, the candidates will undergo medical examination by a duly constituted Medical Board of JIPMER. The Medical board will be located at Examination Hall 2, third floor, JIPMER Academic Centre.
Digital Campus account:
An account will be created on TCS iON Digital Campus platform. The platform will enable payment of hostel fees, viewing attendance & marks, and for other applications. Separate login credentials will be emailed to the parents to view and monitor the attendance & marks of their wards.
Biometric capture: Fingerprint of candidates will be captured on a biometric device by Mr.
Praburaj in Academic section, third floor, JAC.
Admission order:
Subject to successful certificate verification, medical board examination, payment of fees, and satisfying all the admission criteria, admission orders will be issued to the students.
Hostel accommodation:
Submit hostel application form if hostel accommodation is required (Annexure 2). Hostel accommodation will be provided only to outstation students after the completion of the admission process. Facilities available in hostel rooms: Double sharing accommodation with cot, a small storage, cupboard, table, and chair. Things that may be brought by the students: mattress, pillow, bed sheet, pillow cover, bucket, mug, and personal items.
Identity (ID) card:
Submit the filled-in ID card application form (Annexure 3) to the admission team. It will be issued to the candidates when ready. Local address should be entered in the application form (hostel room address after room allotment by those who seek hostel accommodation).
Student case sheet:
Students can avail investigation and treatment facilities at JIPMER hospital free of cost. A case sheet will be issued to the students within a month of joining.
Joining classes:
• Classes for first phase MBBS have commenced from February 9, 2022. Students must join classes from the next day of issue of admission order.
• Students will not be allowed to leave station after admission. Candidates should come prepared for staying in Karaikal and attending classes.
• Students should wear formal clothes in the college premises. T-shirts, Party-wear, Jeans, sneakers, sandals, floaters, sports shoes, canvas shoes, crocs, etcetera, are not allowed.
COVID-appropriate behavior (CAB):
Candidates and the accompanying persons should strictly adhere to COVID-appropriate behavior that includes wearing of well-sealing face mask (3-ply or N-95) all the time, maintaining distancing, and hand hygiene. Those violating CAB will not be entertained by the admission team.
Essential items to carry: Each student must bring along the following essential items before entering JIPMER, Puducherry premises.
For personal protection:
3-ply surgical or N-95 face mask – minimum 100 numbers
Supplies for daily and frequent sanitisation:
Hand sanitiser – 100 ml (5 Nos)
Liquid soaps for personal use in washrooms – 2 bottle

1. Identity proof (as mentioned in the NTA NEET InformationBulletin)
2. Admit Cards of Exam: Issued by NTA.
3. Result/ Rank letter: Issued by NTA.
4. Provisional allotment letter/upgraded allotment letter generated on-line.
5. Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or X Std.Certificate).
6. Pass Certificate: Of the qualifying examination.
7. Statement of marks: Of the qualifying examination.
8. Character and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institute laststudied.
9. Residence Certificate issued by Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar / Aadhaar card.
10. For Other Backward Classes: Valid Non-Creamy Layer OBC certificate as detailed in JIPMER MBBS 2021-22 Prospectus page number 10 should be produced. Refer to the central list of OBC categories at http://www.ncbc.nic.in/User_Panel/CentralListStateView.aspx (Format as mentionedin the NTA NEET 2021 Information Bulletin, page 102, Appendix XV: Proforma for Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL) certificate.
11. For Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe, a Community Certificate, recently obtained from the competent authority – (as mentioned in the NTA NEET Information Bulletin page 101, Appendix XIV: Proforma for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Certificate)
12. For Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates: They should produce the required In- come & Asset Certificate as (as mentioned in the NTA NEET Information Bulletin)
13. Transfer Certificate: Issued from the Head of the Institution laststudied.
14. Migration Certificate
15. For Puducherry domicile candidates: Residence Certificate / Employer Certificate as required in the JIPMER MBBS 2021-22 Prospectus page number 11 and 12 and Annexure I.
16. For PwBD candidates: Medical Certificate (as in Appendix VIII - A, page number 91) from the authorised centres as listed in the Appendix VIII- B (page number 92) in the NTA NEET 2021 Information Bulletin.
17. For Non-Resident Indian candidates: Recent NRI Status certificate of the parent or candidateissued by the Indian Embassy of the respective Country with the Embassy seal.
18. For Overseas Citizen of India: Certificate of Registration for Overseas Citizen of India.

Waiting area of parents or accompanying persons:

Where is JIPMER Karaikal located?
JIPMER Karaikal is 135 km by road on the way to Nagapattinam and Velankanni. JIPMER Karaikal campuses are in two locations. 1. Academic campus (Abdul Kalam Campus) in Thirunallar Bye-pass Road and 2. Administrative complex in the Beach Road (Arasalar complex).

Availing hostel room accommodation:
Hostel accommodation can be availed by outstation candidates, subject to availability, after issue of admission order by submitting a filled-in application form . Login credentials for digital campus account (online platform for hostel room allotment and other uses) will be given to you on completion of admission process. On approval of the application, the hostel caretaker will allot a room on the online platform and payment can be done then on the same platform. There is no other mode of hostel fee payment.
