MCC NEET SS Counselling 2021: 940 seats available for mop-up Round candidates, Check out schedule

New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has informed about the schedule and vacant seats for mop up round NEET SS counselling 2021.

All NEET-SS candidates are informed that at present 2 rounds of SS counselling is concluded. However, after 2 rounds of online counselling total number of 940 seats of AIQ quota are remaining vacant.

The MCC notice mentioned that a writ petition was filed before the Hon'ble Supreme Court bearing no. W.P. no. 53 of 2022 (N. Kartikeyan vs. UoI & ors.), whilst adjudicating the matter Hon'ble Supreme Court directed the State of Tamil Nadu to conduct counselling for 50% seats implementing in-service reservation. MCC, DGHS has conducted online counselling for 50% of seats surrendered by State of Tamil Nadu.

As per the directions of the Hon'ble supreme Court vide an order dated 09.05.2022 in W.P. no. 336 of 2022 (Dr. Ranjeeth Ram Jat & ors. vs. UoI & ors.), a Mop-up round for remaining 940 seats in addition to 92 seats surrender by State of Tamil Nadu will be conducted by MCC, DGHS.

The contents of order dated 09.05.2022 is stated as follows:

"2. Counsel appearing on behalf of State of Tamil Nadu states on instructions that the 92 unfilled seats of the in-service quota of the State shall be surrendered this year to the All India Quota (AIQ). Consequently, Ms Aishwarya Bhati, Additional Solicitor General states that a mop up round will be held for completing the process of admission to super specialty medical courses, occasioned by the surrender of 92 seats by the State of Tamil Nadu to the AIQ.

3. The mop up round shall be held for all the unfilled/stray/vacant super specialty seats subject to the condition that any doctor who has joined a seat in the earlier round shall not be eligible for participating in the mop up round. Since the mop round is being held, a suitable extension of time may be granted for completing the admissions."

The mop up round candidates must note the following:

• Candidates participating in Mop-up round of Super-speciality will have to furnish an undertaking with respect to allotment of seats at the time of Choice Filling on MCC portal as under:

"I agree to participate in additional Mop-up round of NEET-SS Counselling, 2021. I affirm that I am not holding any seat in the previous rounds of NEET-SS Counselling, 2021 of All India Quota/State Counselling of seats reserved for in-service candidates (Tamil Nadu)."

• The Eligibility of candidates to participate in Mop-up round of Superspeciality is reiterated as under:

a. ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES:

Only Candidates who have not joined any seat in previous rounds of AIQ or are not holding any seats in Counselling conducted by State of Tamil Nadu (in-service seats) are eligible to participate.

Candidates who have registered in earlier rounds of AIQ may register afresh by paying the requisite fee and participate in Mop up Round of SS Counselling 2021.

Candidates who have registered in earlier rounds of AIQ or Counselling conducted by State of Tamil Nadu (in-service seats) but have not been allotted any seat.

b. INELIGIBLE CANDIDATES:

Any candidate who has joined a seat in the earlier rounds of AIQ or Counselling conducted by State of Tamil Nadu (in-service seats) shall not be eligible for participating in the Mop up Round.

Note: For ensuring faithful obedience of time schedule and also keeping in view the limited time available for conducting counselling. All participating institutes/colleges are directed to treat all Saturday and Sunday as working days.
