6 candidates submit fake documents to secure MBBS seats under NRI quota, 3 admissions cancelled

Puducherry : Taking action against NEET candidates who submitted fake certificates to secure MBBS admission under NRI quota, the CENTAC Puducherry has cancelled three admissions applications.

Issuing a press releases in this regard, the counselling body stated, "Based on the request raised by CENTAC for authentication of certificates furnished by candidates claiming seat under NRI Quota, replies are being received from various Embassies."

On the cancellation, The notice mentioned, "As of now, three candidates who have been given admission in the MBBS course have reportedly furnished fake certificates to secure seat under NRI Quota. Accordingly, necessary action has been initiated to cancel the admission of these candidates."

"The seats which will accordingly get vacated due to cancellation of admission will be filled during the Special Stray Round scheduled from 25th November to 29th November, 2024. Necessary legal action has been initiated by filing a Police complaint against all candidates who have furnished fake certificates and investigation is under way. It has also been decided to forfeit the registration fee of Rs 2 lac deposited by all such candidates for participating in counselling as penalty," the CENTAC stated.

As per the schedule, the special round for state counselling will begin from November 25th and end on November 29.
