New Delhi: The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has issued a notification for medical and dental officers sponsored by para-military and other Government of India organisations for admission to postgraduate courses, including MD, MS, DNB and MDS, for the academic session 2026-29 through NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026.
The notice outlines key guidelines, eligibility conditions, and deadlines for submission of sponsorship certificates through official channels.
Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) conducts Post Graduate training primarily for the doctors of the Armed Forces Medical Services so as to fulfill the specialist requirements of the Armed Forces Medical Services. Surplus seats, if any, are offered to sponsored candidates of Friendly Foreign Countries, Ex- SSC Officers of AFMS, Para Military organizations/ other Govt of India organizations and civilian doctors.
Detailed instructions for all desirous candidates are circulated through ‘Information Bulletin for PG Courses in AFMS Institutions through NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026’, which will be uploaded on our official website shortly.
It has been intimated that, ‘Sponsorship Certificate’ of candidates with necessary supporting documents are to be consolidated and forwarded to the O/o DGAFMS by the respective Ministry/ HQ of the Para Military organizations/ Head office of other GoI organizations, duly endorsed by the competent authority. Correspondence will be accepted from official channels only and individual correspondence by the candidates will not be entertained.
For MDS Courses 2026, the last date of receiving sponsorship certificate from the respective Ministry/ HQ of Para Military organization/ Head office of other GoI organizations is 02 Jun 2026. Format is attached as Appx ‘A’.
For MD/MS/DNB courses 2026, the last date of receiving sponsorship certificate from the respective Ministry/ HQ of Para Military organization/ Head office of other GoI organizations is 30 Jun 2026. Format is attached as Appx ‘B’.
The Sponsorship Certificate, format attached as appx to this notice and also available in the Information Bulletin published on the official website from time to time as cited above, is to be filled as per the guidelines mentioned below :-
1 Original ink signed by the Competent Authority (not below the rank of Director or equivalent) in the respective Ministry of Govt of India/ HQ of the Para Military organization/ Head office of other GoI organizations in which the individual is employed
2 Duly affixed with the rubber stamp & office seal of the Competent Authority
3 It is mandatory to specify the subjects for which the candidate is being sponsored. The candidates are advised to select, during counselling, only the subjects for which they have been sponsored by their respective Ministry/ HQ of Para Military organization/ Head office of other GoI organizations. Under no circumstances will admission be granted in a subject which has not been sponsored by the sponsoring authority.
Online counselling, consisting of registration, payment, choice filling/ locking and provisional seat allotment for Priority-III, IV & V candidates, for the academic session 2026-29, will be conducted by MCC through their web portal/ website (mcc.nic.in). Seat allotment during counselling by MCC is provisional and subject to fulfillment of all eligibility criteria as mentioned in the ‘Information Bulletin for PG Courses in AFMS Institutions through NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS-2026’, this notice and all other notices published on the official website www.afmcdg1d.gov.in under subject heading as above. The list of candidates eligible for counselling will be forwarded to MCC by this office for counselling and provisional seat allotment.
Priority-III candidates will be considered eligible for admission in AFMS Institutions only for those subjects, which are mentioned in their sponsorship certificate as forwarded by the respective sponsoring authority. In case a Priority-III candidate is allotted a seat, during the counselling conducted by the MCC, which is not mentioned in the Sponsorship Certificate forwarded by the sponsoring organization, admission in AFMS PG Teaching Institutes would not be granted and the candidate would be liable to suffer the consequences.
Format of sponsorship certificate, as applicable to sponsored Medical & Dental Officers, which is to be submitted to this office are attached as appx to this notice. Official address to which the sponsorship certificates are to be submitted by the respective Ministry/ HQ of the Para Military organizations/ Head office of other GoI organizations and the email ID for communication and queries The Admit Cards and the Score Cards of NEET PG 2026/NEET MDS 2026 of the candidates whose Sponsorship Certificates have been forwarded by their respective parent Ministry/ HQ of the Para-military organizations/ Head office of other GoI organizations are to be forwarded to this Office by the candidates directly within 10 days of the result being published by the NBE.
