AIIMS Madurai to commence MBBS Classes from 12th December 2022, details

MAdurai: Through a recent notice, the JIPMER has informed about the commencement of MBBS classes at AIIMS Madurai.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Madurai, an Autonomous Institute of National Importance and apex Healthcare Institute established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). JIPMER, Puducherry has been designated as the Mentor Institute for AIIMS, Madurai (Tamil Nadu).

MBBS in AIIMS Madurai: Commencement of classes:

• Classes for first year of MBBS will commence from 12th December 2022.

• Students will not be allowed to leave station after admission. Candidates should come prepared for staying at GMC Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu) and attending classes.

• Students should wear Formal clothes in the College Premises. T-shirts, Party-wear, Jeans, Sneakers, Sandals, Floaters, Sports Shoes, Canvas Shoes, Crocs, etc are not  allowed during classes.

Place of Reporting — Govt. Medical College, Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu) COVID-appropriate behaviour (CAB):

Candidates and the accompanying persons should strictly adhere to COVID-appropriate behavior that includes wearing of well-sealing face mask (3-ply or N-95) all the time, maintaining distancing, and hand hygiene. Those violating CAB will not be entertained by the Admission Team.

Hostel accommodation: (Separate for Boys and Girls)

Hostel accommodation will be provided only to students who opt at the time of admission.

Facilities available in Hostel Rooms:

Sharing accommodation with cot, a small storage Cupboard, Table and Chair. Things that may be brought by the students: Mattress, Pillow, Bed Sheet, Pillow Cover, Bucket, Mug, and Personal Items.

Identity (ID) card:

It will be issued to the students at GMC Ramanathapuram. Local address should be entered in the application form(Hostel Room address after room allotment by those who seek Hostel accommodation).
