Assam extends NEET PG counselling round 1 registration deadline, check revised schedule
Assam: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has extended the registration deadline for the first round of NEET PG 2026 online counselling for admission to 50 per cent of postgraduate seats in government medical colleges across the state and BBCI, Guwahati, under the Assam State Quota.
The Directorate has also announced the revised schedule for choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment, result declaration and reporting to allotted institutions for the 2026 academic session.
As per the educational notice issued by the DME Assam in this regard, candidates can now complete their online registration for Round 1 counselling until tomorrow, i.e. October 28, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
According to the revised schedule, candidates will be able to fill their preferred choices of institutions and courses from October 29 to October 30, 2026, until 5 PM.
Following the choice-filling process, the online choice-locking facility will be available on October 30, 2026, from 4 PM to 11:55 PM. The Directorate has clarified that candidates who do not manually lock their submitted choices within the stipulated period will have their choices locked automatically. After the completion of choice locking, the authorities will conduct the seat allotment process from October 31 to November 1, 2026. Below is the detailed schedule-
