BFUHS notifies round 3 NEET PG counselling schedule, details

Faridkot: The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the detailed schedule for the 3rd round of online state counselling for NEET PG 2025 admissions in Punjab.

The counselling will cover admissions to MD, MS, PG Diploma, DNB, Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine, and six-month Ultrasonography training courses under the Punjab state quota.

According to the notification, the tentative vacancy position for the third round has been displayed on January 2, 2026. The university has clarified that candidates are allowed to fill choices for seats even if they are not shown as vacant initially, as vacancies may arise due to surrender of seats from Round 1 and Round 2 within the stipulated timeline.

1 Display of tentative vacancy position of seats for 3rd round of NEET PG Medical Counseling. Note: The candidates can submit choices/preferences of college/seat as per their choices even if vacant seat is not shown in the vacancy position as the candidates can surrender the seat of 1st/2nd round upto stipulated period and vacancy position will be updated accordingly. 02.01.2026
2 Date for fresh online registration/application and deposition of application and security deposit for fresh applications alongwith fee of Rs. 5900 (Rs. 2950 for SC candidates) including 18% GST through university payment portal. (fresh registered candidates will have to submit willingness alongwith security deposit for 3rd online counseling . Failing which their candidature will not be considered. 03.01.2026 to 05.01.2026 Upto 05.00 PM
3 The dates for submitting willingness alongwith security deposit for 3rd round of counseling by all the candidates and fresh applicants). The amount of security to be deposited for submitting willingness will be as under:                                                                                         For Government colleges- Rs. 25000/- (Rs. 10000/- for SC/BC/PwD) For Private Colleges- Rs. 2,00000/-
4 Last date of correction/editing in online filled application form. Therefore application will be locked automatically. Once information filled and locked will not be allowed to change in any round of counseling. Note: Since, fresh applications are invited for 3rd round of online counseling under NEET PG 2025, hence already registered candidates of 1st and 2nd round counseling (if any) who intends to edit any Category/Minority Quota/other particulars will give request/application personally in the Admission Branch, BFUHS upto05.01.2026 alongwith relevant proof for consideration in 3rd round of online counseling as last chance. No request shall be entertained through email. Thereafter no request will be entertained. 05.01.2026 Upto 05.00 PM
5 Last date for submission of hard copy of admission application form at University office for NRI quota seats. Candidates seeking admission under NRI quota are required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from the University prior to apply. (Application form for obtaining Eligibility certificate and admission application form are separately available on University website.) 05.01.2026 upto 05.00 PM
6 The candidates who will apply under Sikh Minority/Christian Minority Quota will report to the respective minority institution (SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences, Amritsar/ Christian Medical College, Ludhiana) for verification of minority status. The candidates who have already/got verified their minority status at the time of 1st /2nd counseling, need not report to the respective institute for veriffy again. The candidates, who have already registered under Minority Quota during 1st /2nd counseling and did not get their minority status verified, can report to the respective institute for verification of their minority status for 3 rd round of counseling. 06.01.2026
7 PCMS incentive category candidates will submit hard copy of online Admission Application Form alongwith self attested copies of certificates, NOC and Eligibility Certificate issued by the Competent authority and proof of fee remittance by hand in Admission branch, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The in service candidates who have submitted NOC during 1st and 2nd round need not to submit NOC again. 06.01.2026
8 The candidates who have joined the allotted seats of Round-I and Round-II in the State of Punjab are allowed to surrender the seat upto 07.01.2026 by 04.00 PM with Security forfeiture. The interested candidate will have to submit application of surrendering the seat to the Principal of concerned college to enable him to surrender the seat on the online portal so that vacancy for Round-3 will get updated. Note: The vacancy position will be updated in the online portal; hence candidates are advised to fill/review preferences/choices as per automatically revised vacancy. 07.01.2026 by 04.00 PM
9 Display of Provisional Merit List of candidates who will submit willingness to participate in 3rd round of online counseling 07.01.2026
10 Last date for submission of objections by applicants in Provisional Merit List (if any) by the NEET PG aspirants through email. 08.01.2026 upto 11.00 AM
11 Dates for filling/submitting online choices/preferences of college/specialty through online portal 08.01.2026 to 09.01.2026 Upto 05.00 PM

Note:- The rest of the schedule will be intimated later on as and when the MCC will release the schedule for 3rd round of counselling under NEET PG 2025. 

Eligibility for 3rd Round of Counseling :

The candidates who can apply afresh for 3rd Round of counseling (These candidates have to pay registration fee and security amount at the time of submission of willingness as per rules)

a) The candidates who will register/apply for the first time.

b) The candidates who have not joined the allotted seat (fresh/upgraded) of Round-II counseling can apply afresh for 3rd Round and they will have to deposit security amount again for submitting willingness and choices/preferences of Course/College/speciality as per schedule.

c) The candidates who exit with forfeiture in round 2 can participate in 3rd Round but with fresh payment of fee i.e. fresh registration and security deposit.

The candidates who need not to apply afresh for 3rd Round of counseling

a) The candidates who are already registered but have not been allotted any seat in Round I and II need not to register/apply again.

b) The candidates who have resigned/surrendered the allotted seat of 1stonline Counseling with free exit upto 18.12.2025 at 05:00 PM. However, they will have to submit Willingness alongwith requisite amount of security (equivalent to penalty) and will submit Choices/preferences of Course/College/speciality as per schedule.

The candidates who are not eligible for 3rdRound of allotment.

a) Candidate who has become ineligible due to having inadequate documents as per Eligibility Criteria.

b) Candidate who has not registered in Round 1 or Round 2 or Round 3.

c) The already registered candidates of Round 1 or Round 2 or Round 3 who will not submit willingness to participate in Round 3 counselling .

d) The candidates who have joined the Round 1 or Round 2 of Punjab state counselling and who will not submit willingness to participate in Round 3 counselling.

e) The candidates who are holding any seat of AIQ in any previous round as per list to be provided by the MCC.

Note: Already registered candidates who have deposited security amount in 2nd round counselling and to whom no seat is allotted in 2ndRound, need not to deposit security amount again. However, they will have to submit willingness to participate in 3rd Round, through online payment gateway of University.

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs) for 3rd Round of State Counseling for admission under NEET PG-2025

Whether the candidate who has joined the allotted college of Round-I or 2 can upgrade his/her seat during Round-3?

The candidate who is interested to participate/upgrade his/her seat in Round-3 will have to submit willingness for Govt. Colleges only / Govt. & Private Colleges(both) or Private Colleges only alongwith security fee equivalent to the penalty amount :

Note: The candidate has to submit the fresh choices/preference of Course/College during 3rd Round of online counseling.

Whether the willingness fee has to be deposited again to participate in Round 3, if no seat has been allotted during 2nd Round?

Not required. However, the candidates will have to submit willingness as per schedule to participate in 3rd round.

Whether the tuition fee paid at the time of joining in the provisionally allotted college during 1st& 2nd Round will be adjusted against the willingness fee for participating in Round-3?

The candidates who have already deposited fee during 1st & 2nd round equivalent to the security amount, need not to deposit the requisite fee, provided no penalty would have been imposed, otherwise remaining (proportionate) amount is required (as applicable).

Whether it is mandatory for the candidate to report to the provisionally allotted college of Round 3?

Mere paying the requisite amount of fee does not confer his/her right to the provisional allotment. The candidate who is interested to join the college shall pay the tuition fee and report to the concerned provisionally allocated college. If the candidate does not join the allotted seat of Round 3 the penalty will be imposed and the security amount deposited will be forfeited as per rules and the candidate will be ineligible to participate in any further round.

Whether the candidate can surrender/leave/resign his/her the seat after joining the allotted college of Round-3?

Once, the candidate joined the seat will not be allowed to vacate/surrender/leave/resign from allotted 3rd round seat.

When will conversion of seats to open merit be carried out?

The conversion of seat of NRI and reserve category after exhausting all candidates in relevant category will be carried out during the 3rd round. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible candidates belonging to the said conversion category have exhausted.

In this regard, it is made clear that during 3rd round online counseling one can upgrade/shift seat as per his/her choice. Therefore, any seat may become vacant during the process of 3rd round online counselling due to shifting /conversion of seats. Hence it is not mandatory to submit only those choices/ preference which are reflected in the vacancy position of seats. Therefore, candidates can submit preferences/choices for seats which are not reflected in vacancy position of seats.

Whether tuition fee can be paid through Demand Draft or Cheque?

Demand Draft or Cheque is not accepted. The applicant will pay the fee only through University payment gateway.

Whether the candidate can claim his/her right to the concerned allotted seat if he/she does not join the concerned allotted seat within stipulated date and time of reporting/joining?

The candidate who will not report/join the provisionally allotted college within stipulated date and time, he/she cannot claim his/her right for the particular allotted seat and resultantly the vacant seat will be added in the vacancy position for next Round. Moreover, the penalty will be imposed and the security amount deposited will be forfeited as per rules.

The candidate who do not join the allotted seat, whether he/she will be considered for further round of counseling(s).

Once, the seat will be allotted during Round 3, the candidate will not be eligible to participate in Stray Vacancy Round or further rounds of counseling.

Whether the tuition fee can be adjusted if the seat is upgraded in the Round-3 Counseling?

Yes, the tuition fee will be adjusted (except the penalty amount, if any) and the candidate has to pay the remaining partial amount of tuition fee if required or the excess amount of fee paid will be refunded.

Whether the candidate who is holding the seat, will not submit joining in the new college on the upgraded seat allotted during Round-3, can claim his/her right on the previous seat allotted during Round-I or II?

Once, the seat gets upgraded in Round-3, the previous gets vacated automatically and offered to the candidate as per merit in the same round. Thus, no claim can be made on the previous seat.

What are the circumstances wherein the refundable security deposit will be forfeited?

Under the following circumstances the refundable security deposit will be forfeited:

i. Where a Candidate has been allotted a seat in Round 2 or subsequent rounds (round3, stray vacany/further rounds) and does not report/joins at the allotted college to complete the admission process.

ii. The Security Deposit will be forfeited if the admission gets cancelled after allotment due to any reason. E.g., in case the candidate gives wrong information at the time of registration on the basis of which a seat may be allotted and later cancelled by the Admission Authorities at the time of reporting or fails to produce the required documents at the time of admission.

iii. Where any joined candidate of 1st Round surrenders the seat after the lapse of time for free exit.

iv. Where any joined candidate of 2nd Round surrenders the seat.

The candidates must note :

The joined candidates, who want to surrender the 1st /2nd round seat, can surrender the same by giving request to the concerned college Upto 07.01.2026 by 04.00 PM. Any resignation during this period will be treated as Exit with forfeiture of fee. Candidates who will resign during this period will not be able to participate in further rounds of NEET PG counseling 2025.

Whether the candidates need to surrender the already joined seat of Round1/Round2 for participating in Round-3 counselling?

The candidates who have already joined the Round 1/Round 2 seat and want to participate in Round 3 for up-gradation/shifting of seat from one College/Course/Quota to another College/Course/Quota, they need not to surrender the earlier seat. But after the start of choice filling of Round 3, the joined candidate of Round 1/Round2 cannot surrender the seat, whether his/her seat is upgraded or not in the 3rd Round.
