BOPEE notifies seat matrix for PG medical admissions, details
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations, BOPEE has released the seat matrix for NEET PG MD, MS, DNB courses (Post MBBS Broad Specialty and Diploma) for the academic year 2025.
The tentative seat matrix for NEET PG (MD/MS) 2025 for payment seats under the Hindu Minority (HM) and NRI categories. The seat matrix has been issued in accordance with S.O. 176 dated March 15, 2024, read with S.O. 305 dated May 21, 2024, and will be applicable for physical counselling only.
According to the notification dated November 23, 2025, a total of 18 payment seats are available in private medical colleges affiliated with ASCOMS-J, out of which 13 seats are earmarked for Hindu Minority (HM) candidates and 5 seats for NRI candidates. These seats are distributed across multiple MD and MS specialities.

The DNB seat matrix is applicable to the first round of physical counselling in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The notification, issued on December 25, 2025, has been published in accordance with S.O. 176 dated March 15, 2024, read with S.O. 305 dated May 21, 2024.

Note-
1) 4% of the Total Seats in the Government Institutions has been reserved for UT of Ladakh candidates and shall be allotted to UT of Ladakh (STK/STL) candidates as per their merit
2) Horizontal Reservation in Govt. Institutions:
As notified and explained in Explanation B of amendment ‘2’ to J&K Reservation Rules 2005 vide S.O. 127 Dated 20-04-2020 issued by Social Welfare Department Govt. of J&K, the horizontal reservation means the reservations which would cut across the vertical reservation (What is called interlocking reservation) and the person selected against the horizontal reservation quota will have to be placed in the appropriate category viz. if he/she belongs to the scheduled caste category, he/she shall be placed in that quota by making necessary adjustment and similarly if he/she belongs to the open competition Category, he/she will be placed in that category.
a) 1% of the Total Seats in the Government Institutions shall be allotted to candidates, if any, belonging to CDP (Childeren of Defence Personnel) sub category.
b) 1% of the Total Seats in the Government Institutions shall be allotted to candidates, if any, belonging to JKPM (Childeren of Para-military Forces and UT Police Personnel) sub category.
c) 1% of the Total Seats in the Government Institutions shall be allotted to candidates, if any, belonging to SP (Candidates possessing outstanding proficeincy in sports) sub category.
