DME Chhattisgarh notifies stray vacancy round dates for PG medical admissions 2025
Raipur: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Chhattisgarh has released the official schedule for the Stray Vacancy Round counselling for MD/MS courses under the State Quota for the 2025 academic session.
The notice, issued on February 23, 2026, outlines the timeline and important instructions for candidates who have been allotted seats in this final round of counselling.
According to the schedule, the scrutiny and admission process will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates must complete scrutiny and admission formalities by February 24, 2026, up to 11:00 AM. The scrutiny list will be published on February 26, 2026, by 1:00 PM, and the final deadline for admission after allotment is February 26, 2026, up to 2:00 PM.
Candidates are advised to strictly follow the timeline, as no extensions are likely in this final round.
For government medical colleges, candidates must report directly to their respective allotted institutions for scrutiny and admission.
For private medical colleges, specific scrutiny centres have been designated. These include Shri Balaji Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur; Raipur Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur; and Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai, with certain admissions being processed at Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College, Durg.
Private institutions have been directed to ensure proper arrangements at these centres to facilitate smooth admission procedures.

The DME has made it clear that admission in this round is mandatory for allotted candidates. Failure to join, or resigning after taking admission, may result in cancellation of registration and disqualification from further counselling or even the next academic session, as per rules.
Candidates allotted seats in private medical colleges must also submit an affidavit and provide proof that their bank guarantee is under process or has been applied for. Without this documentation, admission will not be permitted.
The Directorate has also clarified that all admissions are conducted strictly through the official counselling process. Candidates are strongly advised not to approach any unauthorized person or institution for securing admission.
Students are encouraged to carefully review the official notification and complete all formalities within the given deadlines to avoid losing their allotted seat.
