DME Chhattisgarh postpones Round 1 PG medical admission process
Chhattisgarh: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Chhattisgarh, recently deferred the previously announced online application process for Round 1 counselling of MD/MS admissions under the state quota for the academic year 2025-26.
The announcement was made through an official notice.
The postponement follows the earlier notification issued on 18 November 2025, which had invited online applications for state quota seats based on NEET-PG 2025 results.
“Earlier, through Notice No. 8812/Student/Counselling/2025, dated 18 November 2025, issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh, online applications were invited from the candidates declared eligible in NEET-PG 2025 conducted by the National Board of Examinations for admission to the postgraduate medical (MD/MS) seats of Chhattisgarh State quota. In this regard, the candidates appearing for the counselling are informed that the online application process for the first phase of counselling is postponed with immediate effect due to unavoidable reasons," stated the notice issued by DME.

Meanwhile, Medical Dialogues recently reported that the uncertainty surrounding the NEET PG 2025 counselling deepened as the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) had reportedly temporarily announced a '2-3 day extension' for Round 1 choice filling. The move sparked widespread concern among the PG medical aspirants before the notice was withdrawn.
Sharing the screenshots of the MCC's announcement, the aspirants soon started expressing their disappointment over the further delay in the commencement of the counselling process. However, the notice was then removed from the MCC's website, and the Committee has now advised the candidates to refer to the revised PG schedule available on the MCC PG website.
"This is to inform all candidates that the revised PG schedule has been uploaded on the MCC PG website. Candidates are advised to check the updated schedule," MCC had mentioned.
