DME Gujarat extends NEET UG, PG Counselling, Details
Gujarat: The Director of Medical Education (DME) has announced the extension of the state counseling schedule for PG and UG candidates across Gujarat.
The NEET PG Counselling 2021 is conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical courses (ACPPGMEC), and NEET UG Counselling 2021 is conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC). The committee lookout all the counselling procedures and the schedules. Through the NEET Counselling, the candidates take admission in the UG and PG courses.
In a written notice, DME has said that the schedule of PG/ UG counselling has been extended as per the directions of Hon'ble Courts in various matters pertaining to counseling from time to time. Since the MCC of DGHS is conducting the All India UG/ PG Counselling schedule, and state counseling is clashing, the extension has been given. MCC of DGHS is receiving many requests from the State DMEs regarding revising the schedule of state counselling.
The state counselling for each round should be conducted once The MCC of DGHS completes all India Counselling for the respective round, and the state DME is requested to revise the schedule.
Previously, DME had announced that state councelling for UG candidates would happen between 15th February 2022 to 18th February 2022 and PG candidates between 10th February 2022 and 15th February 2022. The candidates will have to wait until further announcements are made regarding the exact date of the schedule.

The Directorate of Medical Education is an administrative body of a state and looks after the state's medical education.
