Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) extended the date of joining for MBBS, and BDS allotted candidates of round 1.

As per the notice, the candidates can join till 15th November 2022. Round–1 joined candidates who neither participate in Round–2 nor resign from the seat of Round 1 will be considered part of Round–2 after the stipulated time.

Further, candidates who wish to resign their seat in Round 1 must do so by 16th November 2022, 3:00 pm.

Recently the counselling schedule got over. The government quota, management quota, and NRI quota candidates were allowed to report till 4th November 2022. Candidates who wish to resign from the assigned seats are allowed to resign.

Eligibility –

1. Indian nationals can apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission.

2. Non-residents of India (NRI) or Persons of Indian origin (PIO) are eligible for management/NRI quota seats.

3. Candidates 17 years or above are eligible as of 31st December 2022.

4. Students must pass class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2022 admission. Students from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories need 40% and 45% marks in the class 12 examination.

5. Students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in class 12.

The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the health needs of the State. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referralcentress with State of the art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.

DME conducts MBBS/BDScounsellingg for 85% state quota and 100% private colleges seats. Admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be granted through NEET 2022counsellingg, conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). There are three rounds of the the counsellings process, i.e., round 1, round 2, and the mop-up round for MBBS and BDS admission.

Recently Medical Dialogues team reported that DME announced the vacancy position for PG Medical, PG Dental course 2022-2023. 440 seats are available for PG Medical and Dental admission. PG Medical has 330 seats, and PG Dental has 110 seats.
