DME Tamil Nadu Extends Date Of Resignation For Admitted Candidates Of MBBS, BDS Round 1

Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) extended the resignation date for admitted candidates of MBBS, BDS round 1.

As per the notice, the candidate who has joined the MBBS/BDS course 2022-2023 session and is willing to resign from the seat of 1st Round counseling has been extended upto 12.11.2022 at Noon.

Recently the round 1 counseling schedule got over. The government quota, management quota, and NRI quota candidates were allowed to report till 4th November 2022. Candidates who wish to resign from the assigned seats are allowed to resign.

Eligibility –

1. Indian nationals can apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission.

2. Non-residents of India (NRI) or Persons of Indian origin (PIO) are eligible for management/NRI quota seats.

3. Candidates 17 years or above are eligible as of 31st December 2022.

4. Students must pass class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2022 admission. Students from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories need 40% and 45% marks in the class 12 examination.

5. Students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in class 12.

The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the health needs of the State. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers with State of the art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.

DME conducts MBBS/BDS counseling for 85% state quota and 100% of private colleges seats. Admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be granted through NEET 2022 counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). There are three rounds of the counseling process, i.e., round 1, round 2, and the mop-up round for MBBS and BDS admission.

Recently Medical Dialogues reported that DME allocates 194 seats for Diploma in Nursing admissions. Candidates absent at the scheduled time and date of online counseling will not be considered for admission. However, the Selection Committee reserves the right to permit the candidate to attend the online counseling if a valid reason for absence is communicated to the Selection Committee. The candidates, so permitted, can only claim college available at the time of online counseling when they attend.
