Uttar Pradesh: Dr KNS Memorial Institute of Medical Sciences, Barabanki, recently informed the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (UPDGME), Uttar Pradesh, about a revised and reduced tuition fee structure for postgraduate MD courses for the academic year 2025-26 under the UP National Eligibility and Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling.

According to the official communication issued by the institute, the management decided to charge lower tuition fees than those fixed by the state government for select non-clinical MD programmes, to make postgraduate medical education more accessible and encourage students to opt for foundational medical specialities.

Additionally, the government also notified tuition fee for the concerned MD courses stands at ₹8,18,235 per annum. The institute clarified that the reduced fee structure will apply to candidates admitted through UP NEET PG 2025–26 counselling. However, Dr KNS Memorial Institute has revised the college-level fees as follows-

S.NO

COURSE

TUITION FEES DETERMINED BY THE GOVERNMENT

TUITION FEES DETERMINED BY THE COLLEGE

1

MD-Anatomy.

Rs 8,18,235/-

Rs 2,00,000/-

2

MD-Biochemistry.

Rs 5,00,000/-

3

MD-Community Medicine.

4

MD-Microbiology.

5

MD-Pharmacology.

6

MD-Physiology.

The decision has been taken to promote non-clinical disciplines, which often see lower preference due to high tuition costs, and to ensure that deserving and interested candidates are not deterred by financial constraints.

Therefore, the college has requested the Directorate to display the revised fee details on the official DGME and UP NEET portals, so that candidates are informed of the updated charges at the time of choice filling and reporting.

Dr KNS Memorial Institute joins a growing list of private medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh that have opted to charge fees below the government-prescribed ceiling for PG courses in the 2025–26 session. The move is expected to improve seat occupancy in non-clinical branches and provide significant financial relief to postgraduate medical aspirants.
