Dual Nativity: MCC notifies on cancellation of candidature of MBBS aspirant

New Delhi- Through a recent notice, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has notified regarding the cancellation of the candidature of 1 MBBS candidate seeking admission at JIPMER Karaikal. In its notice, the MCC issued a letter regarding the matter of dual nativity.

This letter has been issued to the Dean of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Karaikal by the Puducherry government.

Through the letter, it has been informed that a candidate, at S.No.1 in the list notified by the Medical Counselling Committee applied for the State Government Quota in the Tamil Nadu state."If the candidate is allotted the vacant seat at JIPMER, Karaikal, he will deemed to be claiming Dual Nativity. Therefore, he is ineligible to participate in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) Counseling to fill up of the vacant seat at JIPMER, Karaikal, said the notice.

MCC is an organisation under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and responsible for allotting seats for undergraduate, postgraduate and super-speciality medical and dental courses in government-run/aided colleges and deemed-to-be-university colleges. It allows seats online on the basis of the candidate's score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Factors considered during allotment are merit, reservation eligibility and the preference list submitted by the candidate. Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has been entrusted with the responsibility to hold on-line Counselling for 15% AIQ seats for UG courses, 50% AIQ seats for PG courses & 100% seats in Super-specialty courses (DM/Mch), as per various Gazette notification of NMC, various Court orders & notifications of MoHFW.
