KEA notifies round 1 NEET PG counselling schedule, penalty rules

Karnataka: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the PG Medical First Round Schedule for admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses under the NEET PG 2025.

The official notification outlines key timelines for choice selection, document verification, admission order downloading, and reporting at allotted colleges.

The schedule applies to all candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round of PG counselling, including those under NRI and in-service categories. According to the notification, candidates allotted seats in the first round must exercise their options by selecting the appropriate choice out of the four available options, i.e. Choice 1, 2, 3, or 4, after carefully understanding the implications of each.

As per the schedule, the window for exercising choices will close tomorrow, i.e. December 2, 2025, 11:59 PM. Besides, the downloading of Challan and Payment Window is open from today, i.e. December 1 to December 3, 2025. Below is the detailed schedule-

Along with this, KEA has also issued an official notification detailing the penalty structure for seat cancellation under PGNEET 2025 admissions. The circular outlines fines applicable to candidates who cancel their allotted PG medical seats at various stages of counselling, including the first round, second round, mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. The chart also specifies whether such candidates will remain eligible to participate in further rounds of counselling.

The penalty structure has been framed in accordance with the Karnataka Conduct of Entrance Test for Selection and Admission to Postgraduate Medical and Dental Degree and Diploma Courses Rules, 2006, along with subsequent amendments. Below is the detailed seat cancellation, penalty amount chart-

CANCELS THE SEAT AFTER 4TH ROUND (STRAY VACANCY) SEAT ALLOTMENT OR WISHES TO LEAVE THE COURSE BEFORE ITS COMPLETION.

IN ADDITION TO THE PENALTY MENTIONED IN SL.NO.4, the CANDIDATE SHALL PAY THE ENTIRE COURSE FEE. NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FURTHER ROUNDS OF COUNSELING IF ANY, AND NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PG COUNSELING FOR FURTHER THREE YEARS.

Moreover, the KEA has also published the PGNEET 2025 First Round (Medical Education) Allotment List,The allotment list includes seat allocations for clinical, pre-clinical, para-clinical, and diploma courses across government and private medical colleges in Karnataka.

The list contains detailed candidate-wise allotment data, including KEA ID, NEET PG Rank, institution allotted, course specialty, category, and allotment type (G/GMP/SC/ST/OBC/NRI/others). According to the list, a total of 2956 candidates names were mentioned for allotment into the PGNEET 2025 First Round.
