Madhya Pradesh likely to get 200 more MBBS seats
MBBS seats in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: Medical aspirants in Madhya Pradesh will likely get a better opportunity for admissions into government medical colleges this year as 200 additional MBBS seats may be added during the current MP NEET MBBS counselling session for 2025-26.
Currently, the existing government medical colleges in the State have an intake capacity for 2575 MBBS seats. However, DME Commissioner Tarun Rathi has confirmed that the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has approached the Medical Counselling Committee seeking permission for setting up government medical colleges in Sheopur and Singrauli.
As per the latest media report by the Times of India, each of these proposed medical colleges would offer 100 MBBS seats, and after getting the approval, the total number of government medical colleges participating in the MP NEET counselling would rise to 19.
In the next academic year, i.e., during 2026-2027, the DME intends to further expand its network to 25 government medical colleges. To realise this plan, DME plans to add six new medical colleges with an intake capacity of 600 additional MBS seats.
