MBBS Admission Fraud: Delhi-based agents cheat man of Rs 47 lakh, booked

Chandigarh: A couple of Delhi-based agents have recently been booked by the police for cheating and extorting Rs 47.5 lakh from a Ludhiana resident, on the pretext of securing medical seats for his daughter and niece in reputed medical colleges of Delhi.
According to a recent media report, the victim came across the agents in June 2018 via an advertisement in a reputed daily. The ad claimed that the agents provide assured medical consultancy while aiding medical admission, , while handling their activities from their office situated on the third floor of Sewak Park, Uttam Nagar, in Delhi.
Enticed by the same, the victim, who happened to be a General Manager in a steel unit approached the duo. He was assured of finding proper medical seats in Delhi based medical colleges for his daughter and his niece under "National quota".
After gaining confidence in them, the victim paid Rs 47.5 lakh in check and cash after which the agents allegedly provided fake admission lists to the man claiming that both his daughter and his niece have secured seats for MBBS and BDS courses. However, after a few months, they kept delaying the admission process citing technical glitch.
