MBBS admission racket busted: 2 arrested for duping aspirants of Rs 1 crore, probe on
Bhubaneswar: Busting a medical admission scam, the Special Crime Unit arrested two men for allegedly duping several medical aspirants of Rs 1 crore by promising MBBS admissions at various prestigious medical colleges in the state as well as other states in India.
While investigating the case, the unit found that the duo were running an organisation in Bhubaneshwar where they manipulated and extracted money from the parents of the medical aspirants by promising to secure admission at a prestigious medical college.
As part of an investigation into illegal activities in the state, the team have registered a case under sections 419, 420, 465, 476, 468, 471, 120 (B), 506 and 34 of the IPC along with 66 (C) of the IT Act against the duo following which they have been arrested and presented at the court.

To dig deep into the admission scam and make them surrender the names of other individuals if involved with the racket, the Special Crime Unit urged the court to take the accused duo on remand for three days, Pragativadi reports.
