Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME) has released the details regarding discontinuation fee, extended joining date of round 2 for Government quota, tentative revised counselling schedule round 2, a provisional list of re-allotted/allotted/retained candidates, and provisional allocated list of NRI candidates for MBBS/BDS courses. In addition, a provisional list of candidates allotted to the MBBS course in CMC, Vellore also released.
For the candidate's allotted seats in the MBBS/BDS courses, the joining date for round 2 of the Government quota (7.5% and 92.5%) has been extended. The candidate can now join till 21st March 2022 up to 3:00 pm.

As per the notice, the candidates who discontinue the course on or before 24th March 2022 up to 5:00 pm need not pay the discontinuation fee. However, the candidates, who discontinue after 24th March 2022, will have to pay the discontinuation fee of Rs.1000000. The fee can be paid through a demand draft drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10 payable at Chennai.
The candidate who selects a seat in Mop-up counselling and does not join the course within the stipulated time, then the candidate has to pay the penalty as a discontinuation fee.

Candidates of round 2 can do the registration/payment between 19th March 2022, 10:00 am till 20th March 2022, 5:00 pm. Choice filling and locking can be done on 21st March 2022 (10:00 am to 5:00 pm). The result will be declared on 23rd March 2022, and on the same day, candidates will be able to download the provisional allotment order. Candidates can report between 22nd March 2022 till 24th March 2022, at 3:00 pm.
Candidates participating in the online counselling will have to remit a non-refundable amount of Rs. 1000 online as a processing fee. This can be paid through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. However, candidates who have already paid their processing fee need not pay again.
Minority seats will be allotted for eligible minority candidates in the minority merit list. As per DME, in due course, if any unfilled minority seats remain in self-financing MBBS/BDS, then they will be filled by the general management rank list. Hence candidates can also register and choice lock for management/ minority seats.
Candidates need to check the fee structure for management/ NRI lapsed seats available in the MQ prospectus. Candidates of round 1 who wish to continue with the seat allotted cannot participate in this round. Seat matrix and process of online counselling details will be available on the website.
Candidates who are absent/ not- joined/ discontinued in round 1 of management/ minority online counselling will not be allowed to participate in this counselling. Candidates who are willing to re-allotment will have to register. Then their allotted round 1 seat will be open for choice filling in round 2. Re-allotted candidates must get relieved from the earlier institution and join in allotted college.
While downloading their provisional allotment order, Candidates will have to pay the non-refundable amount of Rs.100000 via Debit Card /Net Banking or Credit Card. Re-allotted candidates need not pay again. The candidates will have to produce their original certificates when joining with the scanned copy of the original certificates.
The candidates who do not report to the head of the college to which they are allotted on or before the time and date specified, their selection and/or admission will be cancelled without any further notice.
Candidates selected for admission should give a self-declaration form at the time of the reporting to the concerned college that they are liable for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts misinterpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course.
