MCC Issues Clarification on NEET PG 2024 Round1, 2 Seat Resignation process, details

New Delhi- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a clarification regarding resignation process of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) Round 1 Counselling 2024 seats. The notice was issued after the committee received queries regarding the resignation of PG candidates who appeared in Round 1 but have been retained in Round 2 of PG counselling 2024.

Therefore, through the notice, MCC has clarified that currently Round 2 phase of counselling is in progress, hence the rules of Round 2 will apply to all candidates whether allotted in Round 1 or Round-2. With this, such candidates who want to resign from their seat can do so with the Forfeiture of Security Deposit within the stipulated time.

Meanwhile, earlier through a notice, MCC informed that the authority received requests from the PG candidates who want to resign their Round-1 and Round 2 seats. In this regard, the competent authority decided to allow Resignation for such candidates. The candidates who desire to leave their Round 1 or Round-2 seat can do so from upto 06:00 P.M of 26 December 2024.

The candidates should take note of the following instructions w.r.t Resignation:

1 Freshly allotted candidates of Round-2 who joined their seat but now want to resign can vacate their seat with forfeiture of security deposit within the stipulated time of resignation.

2 Candidates who got upgraded in Round-2, joined the upgraded seat but now want to resign from their seat can vacate their seat with forfeiture of security deposit within the stipulated time of resignation.

3 Candidates will have to report physically at the allotted college to resign their seats.

Meanwhile, as per the MCC AIQ schedule, Round 2 is ongoing and will end on December 22, 2024. Of these, tomorrow i.e. December 20, 2024, is the last date for candidates to report/join the allotted colleges. After this, the verification of the data of the candidates joined by the institutes and the process of sharing the data in the MCC process will start from December 21 which will end on December 22, 2024.
