MCC NEET SS Counselling 2024: Round 1, 2 candidates can resign, upgrade to stray round
New Delhi- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has stated that the Stray Round of NEET SS Counselling 2024 will act as an upgradation round. This means that candidates who have joined seats in Round-2 can now opt to upgrade in the Stray Round, but must carefully decide whether to resign their current seat or stay and attempt an upgrade. No resignations will be allowed in the Stray Round, and those who do not get upgraded must continue with their previously allotted seat.
The MCC has further released the List II of INI-SS candidates whose resignation has been allowed by the MCC. As per the list, now a total of 62 INI allotted candidates have been allowed to resign from the Round-1 or Round-2 seats allotted through MCC, after verification of their documents.
With this, MCC has also issued a notice, informing that the INI allotted candidates can resign from their seats upto 05:00 PM of 24 June 2025. The resignation of INI candidates will be without forfeiture of the security deposit. However, once resigned, the INI allotted candidates will not be able to participate in further rounds of SS Counselling 2024.
Through the notice, MCC has informed that 'the Stray Round of SS Counselling 2024 will be an upgradation round. Therefore, candidates joined so far can upgrade themselves from Round-2 to Stray Round. Hence, candidates are advised to take an informed decision whether they want to resign from their Round-1 or Round-2 seat or want to upgrade.'
However, 'there will be No Resignation in the Stray Round of SS Counselling 2024. If a candidate is not upgraded and the earlier seat is retained, then the candidate will have to continue studying in the retained seat.'
The resignation facility will be provided from today, i.e. 21 June 2025, 01:00 PM, upto 05:00 P.M of 24 June 2025 with forfeiture of the security deposit. Therefore, candidates who wish to resign their seat may approach their allotted college to resign and collect their original documents within the stipulated time. It should be ensured by the candidates that the resignation letter is generated ‘Online’ from the MCC portal by the college authorities. Any offline resignation taken by the college will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.
