MCC to commence NEET SS 2024 security deposit refunds from next week
New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has announced that the refund process for the security deposit paid during the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) Counselling for the academic year 2024 will commence from next week.
According to the official notice issued by the MCC in this regard, refunds for all eligible candidates will be processed by HLL Lifecare Limited, which is the designated financial custodian for MCC counselling activities.
Through the notice, MCC has informed all the candidates who participated in SS Counselling 2024 that the refund process for the security deposit of all eligible candidates will commence from next week. The refunds are being processed by HLL, the financial custodian of MCC.
The notice stated, 'Hence, the candidate must keep their card/bank account ACTIVE till the refund process is completed. If the card/bank account is closed before the completion of the refund, the bankers will not be able to complete the refund process. Since bankers will take a long time to identify & return the failed refunds to the Financial Custodian and legal formalities are to be complied with for initiating a refund to a different bank account, a refund to a new bank account will take a very long time. Neither Financial Custodian nor MCC will be responsible for such delay'.

Meanwhile, NBEMS has released the NEET SS 2025 exam city intimation slips for the academic year 2025 on December 12, 2025. The city slips will be released on the official NBEMS website. Therefore, students who have applied to appear for the super speciality exam can download their NEET SS 2025 city slips from there.
The city slip is an important document as it indicates the NEET SS exam city allotment 2025 well in advance of the exam. However, the exam city slip is only for city information and is not the NEET SS admit card 2025. The admit card will then be released on December 22, 2025. NEET SS 2025 will be conducted on December 26 and December 27, 2025, in computer-based mode at 43 exam cities across India.
Writing to the Chairperson of the MCC, the doctors highlighted how the prolonged delay in issuing the refund is causing considerable distress among thousands of aspiring medical professionals.
"Nearly 10,000 candidates are still awaiting the refund of their NEET SS 2024 counselling fees—an issue that has lingered for over four months since the conclusion of the counselling process," Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) pointed out in the letter.
