The decision comes after revised eligibility criteria were issued by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
According to the earlier official notice by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2025–26 has been lowered. Subsequently, the NBE released revised minimum qualifying cut-off scores for all categories.
In view of this, DME Madhya Pradesh has decided to allow newly eligible candidates to participate in the state counselling process.
Therefore, as per the official notification issued by the MPDME, eligible candidates can register for MP State NEET PG counselling from today, i.e. January 19 to January 26, 2026, till 11:59 PM through the official MP Online portal. Meanwhile, an edit facility will be available during this registration period. However, the DME has clearly stated that candidates who have already registered earlier will not be allowed to re-register or edit their registration details.
The notice further mentions that eligible in-service candidates should register themselves under the open category. After completion of the registration process, their category will be updated to in-service based on the list provided by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS). Such candidates will receive an SMS notification on their registered mobile number once their updated registration slip is available for download.
This move is expected to provide an opportunity to candidates who became newly eligible after the lowering of the NEET PG cut-off, enabling broader participation in the remaining stages of MP NEET PG Counselling 2025. Moreover, the DME has also informed candidates that the schedule for the State Mop-Up round of NEET PG MD/MS counselling will be announced shortly.
