NEET PG 2024 AIQ Counselling for NBE seats: Here are guidelines for candidates, institutes

New Delhi- The National Board of Medical Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released two notices for candidates and institutes/hospitals regarding joining the NBEMS seats allotted through National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) AIQ 2024 counselling.

As per the notices, the Online Centralised merit-based Counseling for AIQ (MD/ MS/ DNB Post MBBS/ NBEMS Diploma) seats has been notified by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of DGHS (MoHFW) for the 2024 admission session. Therefore, all candidates are advised to go through the seat matrix carefully which is published by MCC for each specific round. The information regarding the applicability of service bonds, if any, should be looked into before choice filling.

Meanwhile, all NBEMS-accredited institutes/ hospitals are required to review the seat matrix for the respective speciality which is published by MCC for each specific round well before the commencement of the respective round. In case of any discrepancy, the same should be communicated immediately to MCC. The information regarding the applicability of service bonds, if any, should be provided to MCC so that the candidates opting for such seats are informed well in advance.

The candidate shall join the NBEMS training within the reporting window of the respective round as published by MCC in the counselling schedule. The institute/hospital shall not allow any extension in the date of joining without the approval of NBEMS.

NBEMS training of a candidate shall start from the date of their joining the NBEMS course. Those candidates opting for upgradation shall start their training from the date of their joining the upgraded seat. In the event, that the same NBEMS seat is allotted even after opting for upgradation, the training shall only commence from the date of joining the said seat after declaration of the result of upgradation.

Moreover, the candidate after reporting to the training institute/hospital should confirm with the hospital that their joining status is updated by the hospital at the Intra-MCC portal within the stipulated time period as prescribed by MCC. Failure to update the joining status by the hospital at the INTRA-MCC portal shall result in said seat being carried forward to the next round of counselling for fresh allotment.

At the same time, all NBEMS-accredited institutes/hospitals must update the joining status of the candidate at the Intra-MCC portal within the stipulated time period as prescribed by MCC. The hospitals are required to update the joining status of the candidates only on the Intra-MCC portal. Failure to update the joining status shall result in said seat being carried forward to the next round of counselling for fresh allotment.

The NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) shall be INACTIVE for the hospitals till such time all rounds of the Counseling are concluded. The hospitals shall be able to access the OPJR only after the conclusion of all rounds of counselling. Joining reports of candidates who have finally joined the NBEMS seats shall be furnished to NBEMS, after completion of all rounds of counselling through OPJR.

Below are a few details for the candidates regarding joining the NBEMS seats allotted through NEET PG AIQ 2024 counselling-

OPJR (ONLINE PORTAL FOR JOINING AND REGISTRATION)

Candidates who wish to report & join NBEMS seats are required to complete the joining formalities at the NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) before reporting to the training institute/hospital.

PAYMENT OF ANNUAL COURSE FEE

After completing the joining formalities at OPJR, the candidate shall also have to pay the 1st year annual course fee to NBEMS. This fee shall be deposited by the candidate online through the Online Portal for Joining & Registration (OPJR) within the window of reporting as notified in the schedule of counselling published by MCC. Payment of the annual course fee through any mode other than the below-mentioned payment gateway portal shall not be considered. Candidates are encouraged to pay the annual course fee using Debit Cards/Credit Cards/net banking for timely reconciliation by their respective banks. Payments made through NEFT are usually reconciled in 2-3 working days.

Institutes/hospitals shall verify the fee receipt before allowing the candidate to join. In case of the nonsubmission of the annual course fee by the candidate, the seat allotted to the candidate shall be treated as vacant and shall be carried forward to the next round of Counseling. The joining status of the candidate should be updated accordingly on the Intra-MCC portal.

REFUND OF ANNUAL COURSE FEE

Candidates who change their NBEMS seats to MD/MS seats in subsequent rounds of counselling shall be entitled for refund of the Annual course fee paid to NBEMS only if their respective NBEMS seat is carried forward to further rounds of Counseling. However, if the candidate fails to join the seat or resigns from the seat joined, and the seat cannot be included in the subsequent round(s) of counselling, the annual course fee paid by the candidate shall be forfeited. The Refund process of eligible candidates shall start only after the completion of all rounds of the Counseling and is likely to be completed within 6 months thereafter. Candidates are advised not to canvass with NBEMS for a refund of the course fee before the expiry of an aforesaid window of refund processing.

JOINING PROCESS

After successful submission of 1st year's annual course fee, candidates who are allotted NBEMS seats are required to report at the allotted institutes/ hospitals along with the prescribed original documents which shall be verified by the training institute/hospital as per the eligibility criteria prescribed.

The candidates shall also be subjected to a medical examination by the Medical Board of the concerned NBEMS-accredited institute. Only those candidates found fit in the medical examination shall be allowed to join the course.

Below are a few details for the institutions/hospitals regarding the updation of the status of candidates allotted with NBEMS seats through NEET PG AIQ 2024 Counseling-

DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

All NBEMS-accredited Institutes are required to verify the documents prescribed in original at the time of reporting of the candidate to the hospital. Kindly ensure the fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria by the candidate for admission to the allotted seat.

The medical examination of the candidate shall be done by the Medical Board of the concerned NBEMS-accredited institute. Candidates found fit in the medical examination shall be allowed to join the course.

VERIFICATION OF ANNUAL COURSE FEE

It is mandatory for candidates who wish to report & join NBEMS seats to pay the 1st year annual course fee to NBEMS. This fee shall be deposited by the candidate online through the Online Portal for Joining & Registration (OPJR) within the window of reporting as notified in the schedule of counselling published by MCC.

Institutes/hospitals shall be required to verify the fee receipt produced by the candidate before allowing joining. In case of the non-submission of the annual course fee by the candidate, the seat allotted to the candidate shall be treated as vacant and shall be carried forward to the next round of Counseling. The joining status of the candidate should be updated accordingly on the Intra-MCC portal.
