New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released notices for NRI and PwBD/PwD NEET PG counselling candidates.

The MCC has issued a corrigendum regarding the documents required from candidates claiming Non-Resident Indian (NRI) seats during Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling 2026.

As per the revised instructions, candidates belonging to Category I and Category IV must submit a valid passport of their parents, real brother, real sister or sponsor, as applicable, for registration and verification.

The corrigendum has been issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

The clarification is particularly important for candidates applying under the NRI quota, as it introduces an additional documentary requirement beyond those already specified in the NEET PG 2026 Information Bulletin.

Referring to the NRI chapter of the PG Information Bulletin, the MCC clarified that candidates falling under two specified categories must furnish additional documentation while claiming an NRI seat.

"Reference is made to the NRI Chapter of PG Information Bulletin regarding documents to be submitted for claim of NRI seat. In this regard, it is informed that in addition to documents stated in the NRI chapter, candidates belonging to Category-I (NRI Candidate/ Parents/ Real Brother/ Real Sister) and Category IV (Indian to NRI ) are required to submit Valid Passport of Parents/ Real Brother/ Real Sister/ Sponsor for registration and verification."

Along with this, MCC has issued an important clarification for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD/PwD) participating in NEET PG 2026 counselling, stating that candidates with grievances or doubts regarding disability-related eligibility rules may approach the National Medical Commission (NMC) directly for resolution.

In an official notice, MCC clarified that it functions only as the executive agency responsible for conducting postgraduate medical counselling and admissions. It does not have the authority to interpret, relax or modify the disability eligibility criteria prescribed by the NMC.

The clarification comes as an important advisory for PwD candidates seeking guidance on disability categories, permissible degrees of disability and suitability for postgraduate medical courses.
