NEET SS Counselling Special Round: MCC notifies on eligibility criteria, resignation facility for candidates, details

New Delhi- The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice regarding the conduct of a special round for unfilled DM/M.Ch and DNB SS seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) by MCC. Subsequently, another notice has also been issued, permitting candidates allocated from INI-SS to submit their resignations.

The notice has been issued to notify all eligible candidates for NEET SS 2023 that a special round will be conducted by the competent authority. This round aims to fill the vacant D.M/ M.Ch/ DNB SS seats remaining after Round 2 of SS Counseling 2023 of AIQ. This step has been taken to prevent the wastage of previous medical seats.

As per the notice, it is stated that “On the basis of directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide W.P. © 32/2024 in the matter of Vandeep Singh Basra & ors Vs Union of India”.

The eligibility of candidates to participate in the Special Round of SS Counselling 2023 is as under:

1 Resignation will be permitted only for those joined candidates, who have been allotted seats in INI institutes.

2 The candidates who have joined round 1 or round 2 seats of MCC and are not allotted INI seats, will not be allowed to resign from their joined seats.

3 The upgraded facility will be available in the Special Round to all candidates who have joined in Round 1 and Round 2 of MCC counselling 2023.

4 Candidates willing to participate in the Special Round or willing to upgrade previously allotted seats have to fill fresh choices in the Special Round. Earlier-filled choices will be treated as null and void.

Meanwhile, the resignation facility is again being provided to INI-allotted candidates who have joined seats through MCC in Round-1/Round-2 of All India SS Counseling 2023 conducted by MCC.

MCC has given some instructions for INI candidates who want to resign:

1 INI-allotted candidates who want to resign their Round-1 or Round-2 seat allotted through MCC should send their INI-SS rank letter along with the following undertaking (Copy attached) to MCC on email id. It should be submitted from 05:00 PM on 01 February 2024 to 12:00 PM on 02 February 2024. Candidates who send mail along with required documents will only be allowed to resign from their joined seat without forfeiture of the Security Deposit. However, such candidates will not be eligible to participate in the Special Round of SS Counselling 2023 being conducted by MCC.

2 The resignation facility will be provided from 02:00 P.M of 02 February 2024 upto 04:00 P.M of 03 February 2024.

3 The candidates who wish to resign their seat may approach their allotted college to resign and collect their original documents within the stipulated time. It should be ensured by the candidates that the resignation letter is generated ‘Online’ from the MCC portal by the college authorities. Any offline resignation taken by the college will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.

4 Resignation facility will be given only to INI allotted/ joined candidates.

5 Candidates who had resigned their seats earlier i.e. in Round 1 need not send their documents again.

For the candidate's reference, a format of undertaking for the resignation of Round 1 and Round 2 seats of SS Counseling 2023 is also given in the notice.

Following the resignation facility, the list of candidates who have been allowed to resign without forfeiting the security deposit on the seats allotted to them in Round 1 or Round 2 of All India SS Counseling 2023 is also attached.

According to the list, a total of 13 candidates have been allowed to resign. Candidates can check the list through their roll number.

Meanwhile, the candidates who have reported to their allotted seats through MCC can take back their original certificates from the allotted college. However, such candidates will not be eligible to participate in the Special Round of All India SS Counselling 2023. The seats so vacated will be included in the upcoming Special Round of SS Counselling 2023.

Furthermore, MCC has directed all institutions to submit online resignations of only those candidates whose names appear in the list. Also, a resignation letter should be generated from intramcc portal failing which it will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.
