NEET UG Counselling Process Is Kept On Hold: WBMCC
West Bengal: The NEET UG counselling process is kept on hold until a further announcement, declared the West Bengal Main Computerized Counselling (WBMCC).
Per the notice, the decision is taken based on an order issued by the Honorable High Court of Calcutta on 5th December 2022. The candidates must keep track of the official website for further updates.
Recently the schedule for the mop-up round and stray vacancy round for state, management, and NRI quota seats was announced. Per the notification, the candidates could register online until 3rd December 2022 for the mop-up round. The document verification was to be carried out on 2nd December 2022, 3rd December 2022, and 5th December 2022. From 7th December 2022 till 9th December 2022, the choice filling was to be carried out. The candidates were asked to join from 14th December 2022 till 17th December 2022. On 20th December 2022 and 21st December 2022, the stray vacancy round was supposed to be conducted.
Eligibility for NEET UG –
1. Candidates must be a citizen of India.
2. The minimum age required is 17 years as on 31st December 2022.
3. The candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
4. The candidates have to be NEET UG qualified.
WBMCC, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, Swasthya Bhawan, conduct the counselling session for West Bengal MBBS/BDS/Ayush admissions 2022. The authority conducts counselling for 85% of quota seats in the state medical and dental colleges.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) has been conducted by NTA since 2019 for admission to undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and MHRD. No other entrance test is considered for UG admissions. This test is considered once a year. The exam is conducted for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses.
Recently, the Medical Dialogues team reported that WBMCC informed about PG Medical and Dental college level vacancy round. All non-allotted and non-reported candidates in PG Medical and Dental mop-up 2022 who are presently registered in the system could participate in this round if otherwise eligible. The willing and eligible candidates were asked to attend any one single college of their choice personally and physically with all relevant original documents as required, along with one set self-attested photocopy and requisite college fee within the reporting time.
