The MCC has issued the schedule, which has now been reiterated by the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of NMC to ensure uniformity and coordination between central and state-level counselling processes.
In its communication dated December 17, 2025, NMC informed all medical colleges, institutions, and state counselling authorities that the counselling timetable provided by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) must be strictly followed. The directive aims to prevent discrepancies between AIQ and State Quota counselling, in compliance with multiple directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
The Commission has clearly instructed all State Counselling Authorities, Directorates of Medical Education (DMEs), and participating medical colleges to align their counselling timelines with those notified by MCC.
"Please find enclosed herewith Public Notice No. N-P050 (20)/177/2025-PGMEBNMC (e file no. 8376924) dated 11-12-2025 issued by the Post-Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of National Medical Commission (NMC) on the abovementioned subject, along with state schedule of PG Counselling inter-alia directing all State Counselling authorities to strictly adhere to the schedule provided by MCC so that incoherence between the counselling of All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota (SQ) can be avoided in compliance of various directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. All concerned State Counselling authorities, all participating Medical Colleges/ Institutes and students are requested to kindly take note of the same/ comply with the said directions," the notice read.
"NEET-PG Counseling Schedule for the Academic Year 2025 for All India Quota & State Quota, received from MCC, Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, is attached with this Public Notice for information and necessary action by all State Counselling authorities, all participating Medical Colleges / Institutes and students. All State Counselling authorities are requested to strictly adhere to the schedule provided by MCC so that incoherence between the counselling of All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota (SQ) can be avoided in compliance of various directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India," the notice further mentioned.
