New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has denied claims of a NEET UG 2026 paper leak after a social media user shared a (now-deleted) video alleging that the question paper was being circulated online before the exam.

The allegations surfaced on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, soon after the NEET UG 2026 examination ended, with several users sharing videos and posts claiming that the question paper had been leaked before the commencement of the exam.

On May 6, an X user tagged the NTA and wrote, "I have come across a video raising serious concerns. If this information is true, it demands immediate clarification and strict action. Students deserve transparency and justice. Kindly address this matter without delay."

Responding to the post, the NTA said that the viral claim was fake and that the matter was being investigated.

"This is fake. NTA is getting it investigated. We have details of where the question paper with the ID on watermark was issued and to which student. If someone has faked this video, legal action will be taken with proper enquiry," the agency said in its reply on X.

NEET UG 2026 exam was conducted on May 3 by the National Testing Agency, was held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in pen-and-paper mode. Over 22.7 lakh aspirants appeared for the examination this year. It took place across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, covering over 5,400 centres.

NEET-UG continues to be one of the largest undergraduate entrance examinations in India and serves as the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS and other allied medical programmes across institutions in the country.

After over 22 lakh medical aspirants appeared for the exam, the question paper was reported as overall easy to moderate, though many students found it lengthy. According to candidates, the paper was considered slightly easier than in 2025, especially for those who appeared for the second time.

Recently, the NTA uploaded the Provisional Answer Keys for the exam on its official website, allowing candidates to review their responses and estimate their probable scores. The agency has informed that candidates will be allowed to challenge the provisional answer keys after the scanned OMR answer sheets are uploaded on the website. The detailed schedule regarding the uploading of OMR sheets and the answer key challenge window will be notified separately.
