Allegedly, these two accused had opened up a consultancy center and were defrauding people in the name of MBBS admissions. The Police arrested them late Tuesday night in the Kathuta area of Chinhat.
According to DCP Crime Kamlesh Dixit, the action from the police came after different people filed a case against the people of the Consultancy in Vibhutikhand and the Cyber Crime police station a few days ago.
The DCP informed that altogether 18 cases of fraud and forgery have been registered against the main accused in Delhi, Bihar, Gujarat, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Noida, Bijnor, Saharanpur, and Prayagraj.

As per the latest media report by Amar Ujala, during the investigation, it was revealed that the office of Consultancy was located in the Vibhutikhand area. However, when the police arrived, the office was found closed, and the people working there had fled. The investigation revealed that the main operator of the consultancy is the key accused and the other arrested man who was his main associate.
After the accused were arrested on Tuesday night, he revealed during the interrogation that he had been renting a penthouse in an apartment in Chinhat. He also accepted that he had already defrauded dozens of people of Rs 100 crore in the name of MBBS admissions. The accused used to lure MBBS aspirants with the promises of admission to the Hindu Medical College in Barabanki. As part of his plan, he had opened several fake bank accounts in the name of Hindu Medical College.
Explaining how the accused used to trap people, Cyber Crime Station Inspector Brijesh Yadav said that the students who appeared in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) exam and were unable to get into a good college due to low marks were targeted.
The accused allegedly used to purchase the details of such students from online companies and contacted them through social networking sites. Thereafter, he would invite the students and their parents to the Consultancy office in Vibhutikhand for a conversation and extort money from those seeking admission through demand drafts, online payments, or cash.
Police have recovered three mobile phones, six computers, a router, a dongle, two seals, a checkbook in the name of the Hindu Institute of Medical Science, a PAN card, an Aadhaar card, and ₹4.98 lakh in cash from the accused.
