Special Stray Vacancy Round For PG Medical seats in Puducherry: Deadline to submit course preferences, willingness, fee ends today

Puducherry: The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has issued a notice regarding the special stray vacancy round for 3 vacant seats of NEET PG at Sri Venkateswara Medical College and Research Institute under MANAGEMENT QUOTA.

Using dashboard login credentials, candidates can submit their willingness along with course preferences and payment of applicable tuition fees on or before 30/11/2023, 6.00 pm.

Based on the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court in W.P.(C) No. 1238 of 2023 to consider the three PG NEET Medical (MD/MS) Management Quota vacant seats that arose in SVMCH&RI, Puducherry due to seats vacated by admitted candidates, the Management Quota vacancies in PG Medical (MD/MS) courses is open for admission in Special Stray Round.

The Medical Counseling Committee has published the schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round for admission to post graduate Medical & Dental courses and extended the last date of admission up to 30/11/2023. 

PG Medical (MD/MS) vacancies under the Management quota in SVMCH&RI are –

1. MD ANAESTHESIOLOGY

2. MD OPHTHALMOLOGY

3. MS ORTHOPAEDICS

Candidates who have already applied in CENTAC (final merit list (updated) of management quota for PG medical courses after lowering of cut-off (2023 - 2024) published on 03-10-2023) may submit willingness and course preferences along with payment of applicable tuition fees of Rs. 2390000 /- on or before 30/11/2023, 6.00 pm.

Eligibility for Registering in Special Stray Vacancy Round –

1. All candidates who have been admitted in Round 1 / Round 2 / Round 3 / Stray round in All India Quota or State Quota are NOT eligible for the Special Stray vacancy round.

2. Candidates who have been allotted any seat in Round 3 or in any Stray round in All India Quota or State Quota and either joined or not joined are NOT eligible to apply.

3. Candidates who were allotted a Seat through the Special Stray Vacancy round of MCC will not be considered for this round.

Tuition fee –

Management Quota - Rs. 2390000/-

The candidates are requested to transfer the tuition fee to the CENTAC account through NET BANKING or by generating NEFT / RTGS (preferably RTGS) challan using their dashboard login credentials and proceed for payment. Read the HELP Instructions carefully before proceeding with payment.

For candidates who paid tuition fee in Round 3 / Stray Round –

1. Candidates who have paid the tuition fee and have not been allotted any seat and whose amount has been refunded need to pay the applicable Tuition fee again.

2. Those candidates whose earlier paid tuition fee has NOT been refunded/forfeited need NOT pay again.

3. However, the candidates will be considered for allotment based on full payment of the applicable tuition fee amount. So, candidates may check, and if any balance fee is required to be paid, then they should generate a challan from the dashboard to make payment based on their course preferences.

Refund / Forfeiture of Fees paid for Special Stray round –

1. In case the candidate is not allotted any seat during the Special Stray round, the Tuition fee paid will be refunded to the same account of the candidate from which payment had been made.

2. Otherwise, if the seat is allotted and the candidate does not join the course, the entire tuition fee amount will be forfeited, and such candidate will be debarred from taking the NEET exam next year.

3. Therefore, it is advised that the candidate makes a thoughtful decision before submitting course preferences for stray vacancy counselling.
