TN Health extends joining date for MBBS, BDS Candidates allotted under management quota, Details

Tamil Nadu: Through a recent notice, Tamil Nadu Health (TN Health) has informed about the extension to the joining date for Candidates who are allotted to MBBS/BDS courses under management quota for the academic Year 2021-2022 session.

It is informed that the candidates who have allotted in the MBBS/BDS courses for the academic year 2021-2022 session, the joining date for MBBS/BDS Courses in Mop-up counselling of Management Quota has been extended to join the course till 04.04.2022 up-to 5:00 P.M, stated the TN Health notice.

Earlier, the counselling body had informed about the addition of medical seats of Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute to the mop up round of NEET counselling. Besides, the counselling body has notified about the number of vacant seats left as NRI lapsed seats for MBBS/ BDS Courses in the Academic Year 2021-2022 Session.

As per Court Order W.A.No.324 and 466 of 2022, Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute with seat matrix of 150 for academic year 2021 -2022 is included in the Mop-Up counselling. Out of 150 seats, 75 seats are Government Quota seats, 52 seats come under Minority and 23 are NRI seats. Already two rounds of NRI counselling got over and 328 NRI seats were vacant and the seats were converted to NRI lapsed seats in second round of Management Counselling (24.03.2022). After that, 191 NRI lapsed seats are vacant, the TN Health notification read.

The Last date of joining the course is 05.04.2022 as fixed by NMC, Govt. of India. So, 23 NRI seats of Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute will be shown as NRI lapsed seats, the notice added.
