TN Health invites fresh applications for NEET PG counselling round 3 after NBE reduces cutoff percentile, details

Chennai: The Selection Committee of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has invited fresh applications for MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB courses for the 2025-26 academic year after the NEET PG qualifying cut-off was revised recently.

The decision follows a notification issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on January 13, after approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, lowering the qualifying percentile across all categories.

Revised Criteria-

CATEGORY REVISED MINIMUM QUALIFYING CRITERIA (as per MoHFW letter No. U-12021/11/2025-MEC (FTS8363852) Dated :09.01.2026) REVISED CUT-OFF SCORE SUBSEQUENT TO LOWERING OF PERCENTILE (Out of 800)
General/EWS 7th Percentile 103
UR-PwD 5th Percentile 90
SC/ST/OBC (Including PwD of SC/ST/OBC) 0th Percentile -40

Candidates seeking admission to Government Medical Colleges, Government Quota and Management Quota seats, including NRI seats, in self-financing medical colleges and district headquarters hospitals in Tamil Nadu can apply online from 10:00 AM on January 15 to 5:00 PM on January 20, 2026. Applicants must upload all required documents as per the prospectus during the registration process.

The Selection Committee has clarified that candidates who had already applied earlier despite scoring below the previous cut-off do not need to submit a fresh application, as their existing applications will be considered under the revised eligibility norms. Aspirants are advised to keep a close watch on official updates for further details related to counselling and seat allotment.
