Suicide
Virudhunagar: After failing twice in a subject in the first-year semester examination, a second-year medical student studying at Madurai Medical College allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her house in Virudhunagar.
It is believed that the student from the 2022 batch took the drastic step after she failed to pass in the Physiology subject. Previously, she had failed in the subject in the first-year semester which led her to retake the exam. However, when the results of her first-year semester exams were released, she found that she had not passed again, resulting in frustration.
No suicide note was recovered by the police and the exact reason for the student to end her life is yet to be determined.
