7 MBBS students of Dr YS Parmar Medical College suspended, fined Rs 75k each for ragging juniors

Confirming the matter, Dr Rajiv Tuli, Principal of Parmar Medical College told ETV Bharat, ""The investigation committee has taken strict action to ensure such behaviour is not repeated, In addition to their suspension, the students are required to pay a fine of Rs 75,000 each."

"The college has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Such actions undermine the dignity and safety of our students. The institution is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for everyone," he told The Tribune. 

However, this is the second time a ragging case has been reported from the medical college this year. Medical Dialogues in March this year reported that 9 MBBS students were suspended for 45 days for allegedly ragging the junior batch. The accused medicos were fined Rs 50,000 each and were not be allowed to attend any sports or literary function for a year.

These nine students were allegedly found to be involved in the ragging of junior students (2023 batch) in the dissection hall of the anatomy department of the college on March 4, in which abusive words were also used.
