70 percent faculty missing! NMC Slaps show-cause notice to MMCH Daltonganj over 9 huge deficiencies
National Medical Commission (NMC)
Daltonganj: Finding as many as nine deficiencies in the Annual Disclosure Report (ADR), the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a show-cause notice to the institute.
The Apex Medical Education Regulatory Body, NMC, issued the show-cause notice after finding the deficiencies in the review of the ADR in April 2025. According to sources, the Director of the NMC UGMEB, Sukh Lal Meena, sent the show cause notice to the institute in the first week of May.
Confirming that the Commission detected 9 deficiencies in the medical college, the Principal of MMCH Daltonganj Dr. P N Mahto told Pioneer, "Director UGMEB has show caused this medical college seeking our response to the flags raised by the UGMEB."
As per the latest media report by Pioneer, the deficiencies pointed out by NMC are too varied and broad. The Commission noted that there was an acute and severe crunch of the faculties in the medical college. Commenting on this, the Principal of the medical college told the Daily, "This deficiency in respect of the faculties is a frank one. This medical college is running with only 30 per cent of the faculties. 70 per cent of the faculties are vacant."
