The IGMCRI's announcement offers a precise set of guidelines for the termination of the MBBS and MD/MS programmes. If a candidate decides to discontinue the MBBS course on or before the last date of counselling for the respective academic year of admission, they will be required to forfeit the caution deposit of INR 20,000. However, the institute imposes a more substantial penalty for candidates who opt to leave the course on or after the last date announced by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or any other competent authority, or during any subsequent academic year. In such cases, the candidate will be obligated to pay a penalty of INR 400,000.

Similarly, if a candidate discontinues the MD/MS course on or before the last date of counselling for the respective academic year of admission, they will be required to forfeit the caution deposit of INR 25,000. In contrast, candidates who leave the course on or after the last date announced by NMC or any other competent authority, or during any subsequent academic year, will face a substantial penalty of INR 1,000,000. Just like in the MBBS program, candidates and their parents/guardians must sign a separate agreement bond to acknowledge these regulations.

When the applicant successfully completes the course and is released from the institute, the fees noted in the price structure as "Refundable" will be paid back to them. Students are encouraged to finish their MBBS, MD & MS programmes without detours by this.

Moreover, the notice emphasizes that registration fees, matriculation fees, recognition fees, university development fees, sports fees, examination fees, and any other fees that may be imposed by the university must be paid promptly at the rates prescribed by Pondicherry University within the stipulated time.
