Lack of basic facilities: GMC Rajouri Medicos sit on Dharna
Rajouri: Accusing the college administration of denying basic facilities to the MBBS students, the medicos belonging to the Government Medical College, Rajouri on Monday staged a massive protest alleging that the lack of infrastructure was affecting their studies and career.
As per the allegations by the students, they do not even have proper hostel facilities. Besides, the new college campus in Maira village does not have proper water supply, electricity, and adequate transportation facilities, adds Jagran.
Blocking the entrance of the Associated Hospital of GMC Rajouri, the students prevented the movement of the attendants as well as the hospital staff, except for the patients.
The protest finally ended with the intervention by the District Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kund. Later, the delegation of students met the District Deputy Commissioner and conveyed their problems to him.
In turn, they have been assured that following proper conversation with the medical college management, the issue will be solved at the earliest.
