MBBS Admissions to 150 seats, Manipal Tata Medical College begins its academic session 2023-24
Jamshedpur: MEDORIENT 2023-24, a significant inauguration event held on September 1, 2023, marked the commencement of the academic year 2023–24 at Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC).
Dr. Pradeep Kumar G, the esteemed Dean of MTMC, delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address to the incoming MBBS students and their proud parents. This annual tradition at MTMC is designed to ease the transition into the demanding world of medical studies while instilling the institution's core values.
According to The Pioneer report the festivities began with a symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a touching floral tribute to Dr TMA Pai, the distinguished founder of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Dr. Pradeep Kumar G emphasised the critical role that MTMC will play in influencing the future of healthcare. He pushed the students not just to thrive as medical professionals, but also to acquire empathy and compassion, both of which can have a significant impact on society.

New students underwent an extensive orientation program known as MEDORIENT, which encompassed an introduction to the MBBS program, interactions with esteemed faculty members, and insights into the array of campus support services available. The primary objective of this initiative is to assist students in making a seamless transition into the rigorous academic environment of medical school while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within the MTMC community.
The White Coat Ceremony, a major occasion in which students received instruction from the Dean, Associate Deans, and Faculty members as they donned their white coats, was the event's pinnacle. This deed represented the beginning of their professional path in medicine. Furthermore, students reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to respecting the ethical values that govern the practice of medicine and prioritising the well-being of their future patients by taking the solemn "Charaka Shapath" pledge.
