Hyderabad: The Government Medical College in Rajanna Sircilla district has finally secured approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) recently.

According to the letter of intent, the new Government Medical College, Rajanna Sircilla, Telangana will come under the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal, and 100 MBBS seats will be granted by the National Medical Commission Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB).

The institution will welcome its first batch of MBBS students this year. According to one of the officials, NMC on Saturday issued a certificate giving a nod to the medical college.
Recently, the Sircilla Medical College has been granted permission to begin accepting new students by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the NMC. As per a recent media report by Times of India, The medical college will function under aegis of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences and admissions will be done for 100 MBBS seats.
In accordance with state government directives, the district hospital in Sircilla will be enlarged to a 300-bed facility as part of the college's expansion plans.
According to a media report by Collgedunia, Harish Rao Thanneeru, minister for finance, health, and family welfare, announced the permission of the Government Medical College Rajanna Sircilla by saying: "Extremely delighted to share that Rajanna Sircilla district has got the approval for the Government Medical College with 100 MBBS seats." 
With three medical colleges already being approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with 100 MBBS seats, the Telangana government has been planning to accelerate the completion of remaining six medical colleges across the state.
Health Minister Harish Rao informed that the state government is on track to achieve its goal of establishing six more medical colleges. Earlier, Rao directed officials to speed up the work process on nine upcoming medical colleges in the State out of which three have already got the permission to start functioning from this year.
Harish Rao Thanneeru also stated that with 24 government medical colleges, the chief minister's vision of one district medical college to participate in the "Arogya Telangana" will become true. Nine medical colleges are being built by the Telangana government in time for the academic year 2023–2024. Two medical colleges in Karimnagar and Nirmal are at their final stage of securing NMC approval.
