MUHS Holds 24th Convocation, 8,547 Students Awarded Degrees
Maharashtra- Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) held its 24th convocation on 24 February 2025. The convocation was held in the hall of the Teacher Training Institute of the university.
In this regard, MUHS has released a notification detailing the conduct of MUHS 24th Convocation ceremony. As per the notification, the 24th convocation of MUHS was presided over by Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of State Universities C P Radhakrishnan. Also present were the university's Pro-Vice Chancellor and Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, National Medical Commission Chairman Dr B N Gangadhar, MUHS Vice Chancellor Lt Gen (Dr) Madhuri Kanitkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Milind Nikumbh, university officials and graduating students.
A total of 8,547 students of undergraduate, diploma, and postgraduate degree courses were awarded degrees at the convocation, including PhD degrees to 15 students, while 139 gold medals were awarded to 111 meritorious students.
Meanwhile, while speaking at the convocation ceremony, Vice Chancellor and Governor Shri C P Radhakrishnan said that “students should be dedicated while pursuing health education. Apart from that, education is not complete without any sense of dedication and devotion to the common people. It only costs you a lot to keep you going, yet you are kind enough to serve the common people once a month”.
Along with this, Yaprasad Vidyapeetha's Hon. Pro Vice-Chancellor and State Medical Education Minister, Hon. Namdar Shri. Hasan Mushrif also said that “service to the sick is service to God. This message should be given to start the next action keeping in mind the morality. You are full of dreams of becoming a doctor and hard work. He said that social sensitivity should be maintained and the health of common people should be taken care of.
The course-wise number of candidates who obtained degrees are as follows; Faculty of Modern Medicine (391) Faculty of Dentistry (1816), 687 from the Faculty of Ayurveda, 49 from the Faculty of Unani, 1455 from the Faculty of Homeopathy, 468 from Basic B.Sc. Nursing, 636 from the Faculty of PBSc Nursing, 370 from the Faculty of BPTH, 517 from the Faculty of Paramedical, 517 from a Degree in Optometry, 10 from a Diploma in Optometry and 21 from a Degree in Occupational Therapy.
