MUHS starts Surprise Inspection of its PG Medical Institutes for grant of Continuation, Extension of Affiliation 2022-23

Maharashtra: Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has initiated the process of continuation of affiliation/extension of affiliation of affiliated PG Medical Institutes for the academic year 2022-23. The process has already started from 6 June 2022 onwards.

As per the notice, the university has finalized the Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) proforma (Part-I: Inspection Format & Part-II: PG Medical Institute Information) for inspections. The institute will have to go through LIC's Inspection Proforma and fill in the requisite information, including all annexures for verification by LIC Team. The institutes also have to upload institute information (Part-II) and annexures I, II & III on the institute website.

The institute must create the "MUHS Mandate" tab on the institute website homepage,  and under it,  academic year-wise institute information details and all annexure-wise information must be uploaded. Year-wise, institute information and all annexures on the institute website are mandatory and can't be removed for 5 years.

MUHS has taken up the paperless initiative. The institutes will only have to submit hard copies of annexures I, II, III & IV to the university. It is mandatory for the institutes to maintain infrastructure, teaching staff and other requirements as per MSR throughout the year. And if they fail to do so, their affiliation granted shall be revoked by the university at any stage.

The principal of the institutes will have to update the website with proforma and keep the information ready for verification by the LIC Team. The institutes that fail to update their information on the website will not be granted affiliation.

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences is a higher education institution in Nashik, Maharashtra. The university was established on 3 June 1998 by the state Government of Maharashtra through an ordinance. It was established to ensure proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in modern medicine and Indian systems of medicine in the State of Maharashtra.
