Registration of candidates to appear Super Specialty Exams commencing from May 5: KNRUHS

Hyderabad: Through a recent notification, the KNRUHS has informed about the registration of candidates to appear Super Specialty Examinations which are commencing from 05.05.2021.

All the concerned medicos are hereby requested to view the said details as released by the varsity on its official website:

Eligibility to appear for Super Speciality Examination:

1. The Super Speciality students who have been admitted into the Medical colleges affiliated to KNRUHS in Telangana State, whose admissions are approved by the KNRUHS during the academic year 2016-17 & 2017-18 who are failed, detained and not registered for superspeciality examination held in the month of Oct,2020 are eligible to appear examinations in the month of May,2021.

2. The eligibility to appear for the examination is only after completion of three years of study period (duration of course) as per Medical Council of India Regulations and 80 % attendance academic year wise.

3. The study period of those candidates who availed maternity leave will be extended to the extent of maternity leave availed.

4. The study period duration of course of the candidates is extendable in cases of availed of Medical Leave / Maternity Leave / Any Other Leave / Absence beyond 30 days in each year.

5. Cutoff date for calculation of percentage of attendance is 31.03.2021

A) Upload of attendance:

I. The uploading of Attendance percentage of the candidates is from 06.04.2021 to 10.04.2021.

II. The confirmation date for Attendance is 12.04.2021.

➢ As per Medical Council of India Regulations (Amended up to June, 2017) the following sub – clause is added after clause 13.8(c) in terms of Gazette Notification dated. 09.12.2009 and the same is as under.
➢ A postgraduate student of a postgraduate degree course in broad specialties/Super Specialties would be required to present one poster presentation, to read one paper at a national/state conference and to present one research paper which should be published/accepted for publication/sent for publication during the period of his postgraduate studies so as to make him eligible to appear at the postgraduate degree examinations."
Digital valuation and providing only single answer booklet without additional answer booklet
➢ The University is a Digital campus and implementing digital valuation for all courses. For Super Speciality Course a single answer booklet with 64 writable pages with candidate specific bar code on each page will be issued to the candidates appearing for examinations and no additional answer book will be issued to the candidates. The candidates should answer all the questions in the single answer booklet of 64 writable pages only.
➢ Further it is to inform you that the Digital (ONLINE) Valuation will be done by Four examiners as per the orders of the Hon'ble High Court of Telangana State. Hence, the same may be circulated to the students and staff and also display the same on the notice boards of colleges & hospitals concerned. The average of four valuations will be taken for finalizing the results.
➢ It is also informed that as per Medical Council of India Lr.No.MCI – 23(1)/2014/Med./157716, Dt: 11.04.2015 has informed as follows:
➢ The Academic Committee noted that the students are required to pass theory and practical examinations separately in terms of the governing provisions pertaining to the scheme of examination in the PG Regulations and recommended that an examinee should obtain minimum 40% marks in each theory paper and not less than 50% marks cumulatively in all the four papers for Degree examinations to be cleared "passed'' at the said degree examination as the case may be. Upon approval from the competent authorities of the Council the same may be notified for the information of all concerned."
Hence, in view of the above, MCI Regulations the minimum pass marks in theory is as follows:
a) 40% marks in each paper separately i.e., 40/100 (Forty out of Hundred) and 50% marks cumulatively in all the four papers for Degree exam (Super Speciality) 200/400. (Two hundred out of four hundred)
The above change in minimum pass marks in theory of P.G. Degree examinations in each paper & cumulatively shall be informed to the students and staff concerned through circular and college notice boards and further they should be informed that it is already implemented from the Super Speciality examinations held from July, 2019 onwards.
The above information may be circulated to all the students and staff concerned, immediately.

Instructions to be followed in view of covid-19:

➢ Thermal Screening at the entry of examination hall is mandatory.

➢ Wearing of mask is mandatory for staff and students.

➢ Social distance of four to six feet between students is mandatory.

➢ Examination halls shall be sanitized before and after the examination.

➢ It is advised to keep a stock of face masks and sanitizers for the use of students and staff.
