RGUHS notifies on conduct of online classes for Medical, Dental, AYUSH students

Bengaluru: Through a recent notice, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has informed on the conduct of online classes for the next academic term /semester/ year of Medical, Dental and AYUSH students.

The varsity has clearly stated that as there has been a surge in COVID- 19 and uncertainty about the students attending the colleges, Rajiv Gandhi university of health sciences is instructing to permit the students to the next academic term / semester (3rd, 5th, 7th) /year (2nd,3rd, 4th) for Medical / Dental / AYUSH / Pharmacy/ Nursing / Physiotherapy/ Allied Health Science and to conduct online classes for Dental / Pharmacy / Nursing / Physiotherapy/ Unani/ Naturopathy/Allied Health Science from 17th August 2020.

However, all the students should appear for their previous years/semesters/term examinations whenever they are held.

It further directed, "All Principals are also instructed to strictly follow the University's instructions that the students must obtain eligibility from the institution, by attending online classes before appearing for University examinations.'

The attendance particulars of the students shall be sent to the respective emails as suggested vide Reference (1) above in the prescribed format weekly and consolidated statement monthly.

All Medical/Dental/AYUSH/Pharmacy/Nursing/Physiotherapy/Allied Health Science Colleges should conduct Internal Assessment and Practical's through online mode till the regular classes are started.

The University will assume that Principals will exercise with due care and caution while sending the students attendance to the University. They shall also ensure that the students have enough attendance in their previous semester/term/year. Accordingly, the Principals are responsible for all these academic activities.

The Government of Karnataka established Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences University in 1994 with the objective of establishing and setting up a University for the purpose of ensuring proper and systematic education, teaching, training and research in modern medicine and Indian Medicine in the State of Karnataka. The University was opened on June 1, 1996 and has been sponsored by the newly established Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences University with about 210 colleges affiliated to other traditional universities in the state of Karnataka. Karnataka has the reputation of being the largest health sciences university in the country, with over 700 medical, dental, Ayurvedic, homeopathic, naturopathic and aesthetics, Unani, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy and other semi-medical colleges spread across the state. 
With the rise of the Institute of Health Sciences in the University, many changes have been made to the textbook and assessment methodology for better prospects of students for various medical and semi-medical courses. Improving the health of the medical and health sciences will improve the health of the society. To this end, our university has introduced new innovations, focusing on the outlook of society and the future of the student population, while offering the same equity in the curriculum of various courses and curriculum.
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences has been acclaimed by the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences as well as the world renowned institute for the creation of curriculum for various courses from foresight.
