Delhi: The NEET UG 2023 registrations are likely to begin at the end of February.

The registration was earlier scheduled between the second week of January and the last week of February.

While speaking with Indian Express, NTA Chief Vineet Joshi confirmed, "The registration for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2023 exam will commence by the end of this month."

The NEET UG exam for 2023 has been scheduled for 7th May 2023 as per the examination calendar. The exam date was declared through the examination calendar for the academic year 2023-24, released on 15th December 2022. The candidates must keep track of the NTA official website neet.nta.nic.in. All the details related to the NEET UG exam will be released on the official website. The important dates, exam fees, eligibility criteria, availability of seats, the scheme of NEET UG, marketing scheme, etc., will be released.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) has been conducted by NTA since 2019 for admission to undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (vide O.M. no. V.11025/14/216-MEP dated 6th December 2017) and MHRD (vide Order No 35-5/2017-TS.I dated 24th September 2018). The exam is conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses.

For admission to NEET UG courses, the candidates must be 17 years of age as of 31st December of the admitting year. The candidate must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum qualifying marks minimum. They also have to clear the NEET UG exam with minimum qualifying marks.

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions with a mission to improve equity and quality in education by developing and administering research-based valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, fair and international level assessments.
