NEET PG 2024 candidates rate Question paper Moderate to Difficult, here is the analysis

New Delhi: Amid the complaints from the aspirants regarding the allocation of NEET PG 2024 exam centres and the speculations regarding paper leak, the postgraduate medical entrance examination was successfully conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on its scheduled date i.e. August 11, 2024.

Giving mixed responses regarding the question paper candidates have opined that the exam paper was moderate to difficult. Candidates noted a mixed variety of questions that led to an overall moderately difficult paper.

The exam was held in two shifts at 416 centers across 170 cities. NEET PG 2024 was conducted in two shifts on the same day such that best and reputed centres could be chosen for the exam. Admit cards were issued to 2,28,540 candidates by NBEMS. Candidates were allotted examination centres within their States, as far as possible, stated a PIB release.

To ensure safe and smooth conduct of NEET PG, NBEMS had set up a central command centre at its Dwarka Office, Delhi. Officials from Union Health Ministry, Governing Body NBEMS, Executive Director NBEMS along with their teams kept a close watch on the smooth conduct of the examination, it added.

In order to prevent any misinformation about the examination, NBEMS closely monitored the social media and ensured that only authentic information is given to the stakeholders.

The heightened security measures along with close coordination amongst various agencies has ensured safe and smooth conduct of NEET PG thereby maintaining the integrity of this examination, the release mentioned.

NEET-PG Exam Analysis: 

The exam format included a total of 200 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 800 marks. As per the latest media report by Hindustan Times, medical students who appeared in the NEET PG 2024 exam on Sunday have rated the question paper as moderate to difficult.

Speaking to the Daily, most of the candidates expressed that the exam paper was not easy, but rather moderate. Some candidates have opined that the paper was lengthy and different from previous year.

Jagran Josh has reported that some of the candidates noted that the NEET PG 2024 question paper included a mixed variety of questions, leading to an overall moderately difficult paper. 

Regarding Shift 1, the Daily has reported that as per the responses received from the candidates, the difficulty level of questions from Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Social and Preventive Medicine, Forensic Medicine, were moderate. However, the questions from General Medicine including Dermatology & Venerology & Psychiatry, ENT, General Surgery including Orthopaedics, Anesthesia & Radiodiagnosis, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Paediatrics, and Ophthalmology were moderate to difficult.

Candidates who appeared in the 2nd shift of the exam found the paper moderate to difficult. However, some of them found that this year's paper was slightly more difficult than last year's. Questions from Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, General Medicine including Dermatology & Venerology & Psychiatry, ENT, General Surgery including Orthopaedics, Anesthesia & Radiodiagnosis, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Paediatrics and Ophthalmology were moderate. Questions from Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Social and Preventive Medicine, and Forensic Medicine sections were moderate to difficult.
